10-2, back in Atlanta and Playoffs with a minimum of 1 win. Anything else would be a step backwards, especially how that he has a much better roster.
“4 losses”, when you win 11 games vs (8 vs ranked opponents), play OU twice, Georgia twice and lose to the 16-0 national champs is not the same thing as 8-4 or 9-4.
Bama was the #1 seed in the SEC and ranked #2/#3 in the regular season. Losing in Atlanta in the SECCG to a Georgia team they beat on the road in the regular season, then losing to that Indiana team in the Rose Bowl is a good 2nd season for any HC. LSU fans haven’t won 11 games in a season but once in the past what? 10-15 years?
Now, if the following season (Year 4), he can’t get that team to a Semifinal or Natty then he never will.

Ok, I’ll bite. As a fan, I acknowledge the new paradigm in College football. Expecting a Coach to every year bringing in 30-50 new portal and recruits to win a Natty every year is unrealistic. Saban won 6 over 17 seasons. So basically every third season. That’s otherworldly. I don’t expect DeBoer to do that nor expect him too. I want tough, hard nose Football and no blowouts like Indiana. Saban won in a totally different era. That’s why he retired. He knew he could not cut it anymore with his style of coaching in this new era.
Bama will surprise many this Season. Can’t wait for the season to start.
And no, DeBoer won’t be fired.

I think Sumrall will do good for us but I don't get all the hate for DeBoer as his recent resume is definitely better than any SEC coach except for Smart. Him and Sarkisian would be the argument for #2.

The guy is known as “Joey Freshwater”, selling Hummers with Ed Orgeron, getting fired and left on an airport Tarmac, bailed on what he building that was going to be “unlike anywhere else in the SEC” (sounds familiar), can’t keep his pants up for 1 more week so Saban has to fire him (seems to be a trend) the week of the Natty, then he follows that up by finally doing something in year 6 at Ole amiss but yet AGAIN bails on his team the week of the Playoffs, but yeah this time it’s going to be different….
Meanwhile, you keep mocking a coach that won back to back conference titles, got UW to the natty, is 7-1 vs Sark, Kirby and Lanning, and brought Bama to 7-1 in the SEC, 2-1 vs Kirby, playoffs, won playoff game, Rose Bowl, SECCG, 11 wins all in year 2…not mention continuing the 100 year tradition of beating that LSU a** 42-6 in Tiger Stadium.

I’m laughing my arse off at this. Arguing G5 Johnny has a better resume than any returning sec coach is comedy. He’s a fake hard arse with not much ground to stand on. This one will hurt you worse than sunbelt Billy did

I was talking about DeBoer having an argument for the #2 resume to Smart. I do think Sumrall will be a good coach at UF though.
