Helluva coach….remind me of the biggest bowl game/conference championship game/national title game/ or idk anything that matters? The best indicator of a persons future actions is their past…. The guy is known as “Joey Freshwater”, selling Hummers with Ed Orgeron, getting fired and left on an airport Tarmac, bailed on what he building that was going to be “unlike anywhere else in the SEC” (sounds familiar), can’t keep his pants up for 1 more week so Saban has to fire him (seems to be a trend) the week of the Natty, then he follows that up by finally doing something in year 6 at Ole amiss but yet AGAIN bails on his team the week of the Playoffs, but yeah this time it’s going to be different…. Meanwhile, you keep mocking a cos h that won back to back conference titles, got UW to the natty, is 7-1 vs Sark, Kirby and Lanning, and brought Bama to 7-1 in the SEC, 2-1 vs Kirby, playoffs, won playoff game, Rose Bowl, SECCG, 11 wins all in year 2…not mention continuing the 100 year tradition of beating that LSU a** 42-6 in Tiger Stadium even though Gordon McKernan gave Nussmeier to stay another year to make a title run. 2011 broke you guys for life. You could beat Nama the next 30 years in a row and it would still wouldn’t erase the dominance of Bama over LSU. Lane is different this time….I just know it “this place is just different”, guess he brought his UTjr speech with him by accident.
Holy TLDR word salad Batman!

He put Kirby #1 and Sark/Deboer #2….wtf did he say about Sumrall? Unlike LSU, some fans actually wait for their coach to coach a game before crowning him. Sumrall has the same number of anything Lane has at the P-4 level…..nothing

In his first 2 years, DeBoer lost the same number of games that Bama had lost in the prior 5 years combined.
In his first 2 years, Kirby produced Georgia's first 13-win season in 15 years.

And Deboer is 12-4 in THE SEC, and Kirby was 11-5 in the SEC his 1st 2 years
Ok...good point. Let's look at the SEC Wins and Losses between the 2.
DeBoer:
Wins
Georgia - 2
Vandy - 1
Missouri - 2
Tennessee - 1
USCe - 2
LSU - 2
Auburn - 2
Oklahoma - 1
Losses
Oklahoma - 2
Georgia - 1
Vandy - 1
Tennessee - 1
On the field, DeBoer was actually 13-5 with one of the wins being the CFP game vs Oklahoma, and 1 loss being the SEC CG.
Note that the prior 2 seasons, Alabama was 14-2 in the SEC. DeBoer's first 2 seasons were a drop-off from the prior 2 for Alabama.
Smart:
Wins
MSU - 1
Tennessee - 1
Vandy - 1
Missouri - 2
Florida - 1
USCe - 2
Kentucky - 2
Auburn - 2
Losses
Auburn - 1
Alabama - 1
Ole Miss - 1
Tennessee - 1
Vandy - 1
Florida - 1
On the field, Kirby was actually 12-6, with one of the losses being the OT Loss to Saban in the National CG, and one of the wins being over Auburn in the SEC CG.
In the prior 2 seasons, Georgia was 11-5 in the SEC, so the same record that Kirby had in his first 2 seasons if you don't count the 2017 National CG or the Conference CG as conference games.

Enjoy the high and be prepared to be disappointed again.

Sounds like what you’ve lived your whole life with the exception of 2019

Listening to Coach DeBoer
Did he talk about how the loss of Robert Suttles will impact their NIL budget? Hard to believe a dynasty such as bama funded paying players thru human trafficking.

I think 10-2 is about right. And “yes”, competing for the SEC Championship (for however much longer it exist) and routinely making the Playoffs and advancing more times than not, is my expectation in this NIL/Portal “era”.
The Big10 has had more success since NIL got out of hand than they did in the 20+ years prior to that combined. Obviously it’s due to their deep pockets.
I commend LSU in rubbing every Nickle together to try and improve and be a Playoff team, it just sucks that it takes that in order to compete at a high level.
It’s also why I appreciate CKD, and going to Atlanta and Playoffs in his 2nd season probably more than I did under CNS bc it was something I took for granted.
Coach Saban got out before he had to really deal with NIL/Portal like it’s evolved into today, and I don’t see how any (individual) SEC team will win a national title more than once a decade now.
CKD is keeping Bama in the hunt and that’s all you can realistically expect imo. He is 2-1 vs Kirby since taking over at Bama, 2-0 vs Sark and 3-0 vs Lanning while at UW, and has beaten all our rivals pretty badly so far in his two seasons thus far.
Sure that’s a lower set of expectations than “National Championship or bust”, but it’s still fun.
If LSU wins 11 games, makes it to Atlanta, advances in the Playoffs, I’m sure you will appreciate it (regardless if they were to lose badly to the eventual national champions), and Lane should be SEC COY if he accomplishes that.
Just an honest take.

That is part of it but a huge component of being successful and it translates from era to era is scheme and talent evaluation
Lane has totally proven to be elite at that from the scheme and portal standpoints, now that he has the LSU branding and alignment behind him, he's being successful in high school recruiting for the first time since USC as well
I'm not one of those LSU fans who's bitter towards BK, he did a great job rebuilding that team for Year 1 and was a faceplant at A&M away from maybe making the 4 team playoff if they knock off UGA in Atlanta. He never built off it though, he got complacent and believed his Year 1 strategy for building the team would work again the succeeding years, didn't happen and he missed on defensive players, next to the fact he lost Denbrock and made a QB coach the LSU offensive coordinator, that's Curley Hallman nonsense.

It's even harder now since they beat up on each other in the regular season and added another conference game on top of the tournament field being 12 teams

It definitely reinforces the one game at a time mantra because looking ahead tends to bite many a team

You seem like a good dude. Hopefully it will be fun watching Bama-LSU this year. Unbelievable that it won’t take place every year anymore in the future. Yet another crappy change to CFB
