Why should SEC conform to what he wants? Who the frick does he think he is? If he doesn’t like then the PAC 8, 10, 12 or whatever they are now should reduce to a 8 game conference schedule.

I understand the PAC 10 is weak overall.

But I do think that all conferences should play by the same set of rules.

The problem/complaint has always been that with an 8 game conference schedule, there would be teams within the conference that kids would never play against and venues that fans would only get to visit every 12-15 years! These are legitimate complaints and they need to be addressed.

That wasn't a problem through the history of the SEC (uga and lsu have only played 30 times ever ). Does LSU worry about how many times they play Vandy?

The problem is forcing half of the conference every year (uga vs Vandy isnt a rivalry, either. Rotating the division makes more sense than rotating a 9th team).

You folks aren't addressing the 1000s of season ticket holders who pay huge money to sit through App. State and Samford games because they're the cupcakes for the year.

Adding a 9th confrench game loses a home game every other year. Appalachian State is a home only game. So is Samford.
Given the choice of playing a guaranteed home game every year and seeing Mississippi State more often in Athens, UGA fans are going to take the guaranteed home game. So will the SEC (a 9th conference game loses 7 games per year from the schedule. That is fewer games to televise, radio broadcast, and broadcast over the internet. It ain't happening).

Unfortunately the only way this could work

You are killing your own argument. The ncaa is a eunich. If you want better scheduling, have your AD do what UGA does and schedule better, more OOC p5 opponents. You are the constituents. Grow a pair and demand better.

So are UGA,UF,SC and UK already at a disadvantage because they go home and home OOC P5 every year?

Why can't Bama do it if those schools do?

You mean... behind UGA.

But you are correct. The east schedules much better than the west does.

I'm in favor of 9 conference games simply because I want more good games and less of the dogshit that all SEC teams schedule. Having said that, doing it for the sake of equality across CFB is a dumb take because the conferences are too different. Schedules are still going to be unequal.

Eh.

How many were road games?
The iron bowl this year reminds everyone why Bama avoids road games out of conference.

Bama ooc isn't trash. But it isn't anywhere near leading the conference. Middle of the road.

Unfortunately for you and everyone in favor of 9 conference games, that isn't achieved with the 9th game.

A 9th game is more of the same (this year, you played Vandy. The 9th game gets you this more often. That isn't a good game. And it costs you a home game every other year to achieve this. It isn't worth it).

For some reason, people think the 9th game will eliminate playing Mercer. It wont. Even with 9 conference games, there will always be a weakest opponent there. There will always be a team who doesn't demand a return home trip and takes their $1M arse whooping. The 9th game doesn't eliminate that. And all of this bitching and moaning for it is fruitless.

Bama loves that tradeoff.
It is an easy decision for them because they can avoid the type of embarrassment that they received in the iron bowl this year despite being the better team.

Don't be an idiot. Acknowledge the good and bad of your scheduling. Know why you do it and be a better man for it.

If you don't like it, demand a home and home out of conference.

You're right, I suppose. But as an Alabama fan I'd have preferred us to play Florida or Mizzouri or South Carolina this year rather than playing Fresno State or Colorado State. Even if it means keeping Mercer. Just my opinion.

Be a better man? My God, we are talking about football schedules.

Lots of fans want the home and home. Does the home and home do anything to help prepare you for the playoffs? Nope. Because those are neutral site games. I'm in favor of the neutral games because they most closely simulate what you see a the end of the season.

You can act like you know why Alabama schedules the way it does, but at the end of the day you're just making shite up. Accept that and grow from it and realize that just because you want it to be the case doesn't necessarily make it the case. Eventually, if you keep working on this, you can become a better man.

Then schedule tougher OOC opponents. If you don't like Fresno State and Colorado State, take someone tougher.

No team controls their conference schedule. Bama used to bitch about being after every conference opponent's bye week. I only say that to emphasize that only Bama controls your OOC schedule. If Fresno State is beneath you, schedule tougher.

I promise you. You will have to accept home and homes to accomplish this. Your fan base will have to accept one fewer home games to make it happen.

But it is the only way for you to achieve what you are asking for (because the 9th conference game isn't better scheduling. Just more of the same, and it is out of your control).
