We’ll play 9 games when he admits that our 3 hardest games are harder than all 9 of his combined.

His conference is shite, but he has a point.

No he doesn’t. Every SEC team plays P5 non-conference games.
Bama played FSU
A&M played UCLA
LSU played Cuse
UF plays FSU
USCe and Auburn played Clemson
the list goes on

Considering the PAC 12 has been left out of the playoffs numerous times, maybe they should adopt the model of the more successful conferences

How does that disprove his point?
Just about every SEC team plays an FCS opponent too.

If you are the Pac 12 and you have a problem just do what the other conferences are doing. Rather than expect 4 conferences to change for you, you be the one that goes to an 8 game conference schedule.

PAC 12 played 8 games vs FCS
PAC 12 played the lowest percentage of OOC games against P5 teams.
Playing 9 conference games has reduced PAC 12 OOC exposure vs good teams.

Saban has been saying that for while now.

Who did Stanford play OOC?

Every team in the power 5 should have to play 9 conference games, 1 OOC Power 5 team, one G5 team, and then an FCS/G5 team. Also, no G5 or FCS opponents past week 3.
This would make it a lot more fun for the fans.

I agree. All P5 teams should play 9 conference games and no FCS opponents. By playing only eight, way too many years go by between cross-division matchups. Games vs FCS teams suck. P5s can play G5 schools instead of FCS for "tune-ups" and "breaks" on the schedule. Let the G5 schools play rent-a-win games vs FCS teams.
G5s may not be able to pay FCS teams as much as P5s do for their rent-a-win revenue, but an ESPN FCS Network may be a viable source of supplemental revenue for FCS teams.
Imo, the CFP should have two "scheduling rules" to qualify for the CFP final four:
1) P5-level teams (includes independents like ND and BYU) must play at least 9 games vs P5-level teams and no FCS teams.
2) G5-level teams must play at least 3 games vs P5-level teams and no FCS teams.
If a team's schedule does not conform to its applicable scheduling rule, it is automatically disqualified from being ranked in the final four.

All of his points are legitimate. 9 conference games is certainly better for the fans.
