Van Horn will throw a kid until his arm falls off. Will McIntire threw 81 pitches on Friday. Van Horn pitched him again today for another 57 pitches. He's done this multiple times in his career. I hope he never wins a championship.

That’s 14 more pitches over 3 days than Skenes threw in one night against Tulane. What a freaking monster.

A Wichita State coach complained that DVH destroyed the arm of Charley Boyce back in 2004 in the Fayetteville regional.
Little did this coach know that Boyce went to DVH and told him I want to pitch as long as I can. Boyce said he wasn't a draft worthy prospect and didn't bother him that he taxed his arm so much.
He let him pitch over 203 pitches in two days which helped Arkansas win the regional.

The message was that Boyce wasn't a wimp and put everything he had to help his team win.
He admitted that if he was a high draft prospect then he wouldn't go along with it but he wasn't and didn't care.
Will McIntire probably told DVH that I can pitch and I'm sure both have communicated with each other inning by inning to see if he wanted to keep going or not.

Not a baseball guy at all but I know enough to know that historically 81 pitches ain't shite.
Seems like this putting guys on a pitch count is relatively new...like in the last 10 years or so.
