We'll be good. It's not a Catholic wedding. The service will last less than 30 minutes and the reception is on the same piece of property.
I would fully support a short rain delay with a start at 7pm......since my son is getting married and the service is at 6pm.

They gave us the date more than a year ago. The first thing I did was check the CWS schedule. Ok, so many things needed to happen for this to a be a problem, but for the last year, I worried about it. I knew when our super regional started last Saturday I was likely doomed.
For those not old enough to see LSU baseball in the 90's, let me tell you something....you have no idea what a meteoric rise it was. I was a student at LSU from 1984-89 and was only a casual fan initially, but I caught the bug as I was leaving. In fact, my graduation from LSU was about 10 days before LSU went to A&M and stunned them in the regional to get to Omaha.

Imagine being in the middle of six straight losing football seasons from 1989 to 1994. Loss after loss after loss. Getting embarrassed in SEC games by good teams and sometimes BAD teams. It was miserable. The fan base was starving for a winner and Skip was just building his dynasty. That ride from 1991 to 2000 was incredible.
Boy he does. It's like he went completely gray overnight.
I was a student back then. I remember seeing Terry in the old Pentagon cafeteria and talked to him a couple of times. I can't say I knew him, but his personality was definitely polar opposite of Joey. I remember walking past Joey one day near Tiger stadium. I could not believe how built he was for a baseball player. Just a physical specimen.
I don't know if anyone saw the tweets from Ross Dellinger and Kendall Rogers tonight about the House settlement. It sounds like there may have been a rush to get some deals done Friday night before midnight. I'm assuming State dropped a big bag to keep Reece, but I wonder if the settlement had anything to do with that.
I don't have a problem with his decision at all. If you look at the last 3-4 weeks, Noot and Shores had actually pitched better than Evans and Cowan. He figured those two would be plenty enough. No way Little Rock could shut down our offense with that pitching staff, right?

Start Evans. He is your best arm. Then follow with Cowan.

Yeah, let's blame the crowd. Good call. A bunch of early walks by our pitchers were on the fans too. Gotta fix that.
It's double elimination and their opponent already has one loss. Southeastern of Florida will have to beat LSUS Friday night and Saturday night. There is no stand alone championship series.
I was there all 5 days and remember it very well. 1997 was the last year of the old 6 team regionals, so it started on Thursday. We dealt with rain Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

We were comfortably beating UNC Greensboro on Thursday night when the game was postponed due to rain. My tickets were down the left field line. I can say that was probably the closest I've ever been to getting struck by lighting. When it hit, everyone in those aluminum bleachers ran for cover. The game was resumed Friday morning and we finished them off.

Later Friday, we won the Oklahoma game. In addition to the triple play, I think that's the game we broke the single season HR record. Of course, we finished that season with 188.

On Saturday morning, we played South Alabama in the "marble" game and were losing by several runs when the rain came again. That was the first game of the Saturday session (3 games). We waited it our several hours before they eventually canceled everything for the day. Sunday morning we resumed the game and couldn't rally. And of course, Sunday night was the classic against Long Beach.

The doubleheader was Monday against South Alabama and we easily won both games. It was dry and hot that day. No more rain.
Houston Christian is up 1-0 in their series with UNO. That would be something if they get the auto bid and get sent to BR as a 4th seed. That would be kind of a cool for the Walker family.

He's saying we have Chris Guillot leading the cheers for LSU while Vandy has the stupid whistler.
So he took this job last June(?) and Ray Tanner retired as AD in September? There has to be more to the story. Someone Tanner's age had to know he was getting close to retirement. Does anyone think Mainieri takes that job knowing Tanner was going to retire in 3 months? I don't.
I can't ever recall a coach being as positive as her. I mean, Tiger Park could get leveled by a tornado and she would say, "well, the foul poles are still standing".

re: SEC Tournament scenarios

Win tomorrow and we lock up a top 4 seed in the tournament too. I know winning the tournament won't matter, but at least we won't play until Thursday or Friday AND we would play no more than 3 game next week.

Also interesting, if Tennessee loses tomorrow, I think there is a chance they could finish 9th in the league. Hard to believe.
Could we now get this updated with a 4 way tie with Arkansas, LSU, Vandy and Georgia at 19-11?
Yep. And they beat Oklahoma State with Pete Ingaviglia in Omaha. Oklahoma State was a regular in Omaha back in the 80's but they could never win the big one.

I'm sure Jay already knows his social security number, his mom's favorite color and the name of his first pet.
