WOW that OC schedule. Did UGA just not make an attempt to schedule anybody in 2018? You expect to see that from the Vandy's, Missouri's, and Arkansas' of the world, but typically the top of the SEC has at least one marquee OC game.

Other SEC Teams with Notable OC Games:
Alabama- Lousiville
Auburn- Washington
LSU- Miami
Ole Miss- Texas Tech
Tennessee- West Virginia
Texas A&M- Clemson
Miss State- Kansas State
Florida- Florida State
USCe- Clemson
Kentucky- Lousiville

Not sure, actually. I think we were a bit surprised. We usually make up for it, though by playing GT every year, and then another tough team along the lines of ND, Clemson, Okie State, or somebody along those lines. Hard to complain about one less than stellar schedule OOC.

Jackson was okay so LSU fans liked him I was just never impressed and he just gave up some big plays throughout his career. Has all the speed but just isn't a shutdown corner at all. Tolliver had a great freshman year but lost it he seemed to always be in position but never looked back to find the ball.

Anyway I think Georgia has a great future with smart in charge.

@USC early will definitely be a test. I think our offense will be up to the task. The question mark will be the defense; though having Ledbetter and Baker come back for their senior seasons will help a lot, the inside linebackers will be very inexperienced if Patrick can't stop smoking pot.

LSU on the road won't even be one of our 3 toughest games. We will handle LSU easily.

Our toughest game is probably week 2 @ USCe.

Commitee proved this year that OOC scheduling means very little. Example, if Auburn plays UMASS instead of Clemson on the road this year then AU is 11-1 instead of 10-2 and probably gets 4th seed in playoff even with SECCG loss to UGA. In Auburn's case, playing Washington can only hurt us as if AU beats UGA and Bama then we could have a whole schedule full of tomato cans and we would still get credit for beating two top teams. I don't like it as a fan but you will see teams schedule light due to the way the commitee moved the goalposts this year.

South Carolina will be a very tough out. The game at Mizzou will be a real challenge with Locke returning, as he knows how to exploit our weakness defending the long pass. Florida and Tennessee are rebuilding, but will be challenging given the new (and improved) coaching staffs and revenge motives given what we did to them last year.

Then throw in Auburn and @LSU, and we could struggle some.

But yeah, our out of conference schedule is bad. Real bad. UCF bad.

We usually do, but the GT game and UF neutral site games complicate things. We only have 3 conference home games in 2018. UGA has to play GT, who looks like they'll suck again next year but that's hard to predict years out.

You don't get credit for playing a tough schedule unless you beat the tough teams. Had you beaten Clemson, you might have gone instead of Alabama. Would be willing to bet you would have. But if all it took was scheduling tough teams and then losing every team in the country would be going 0-12 and to the playoffs.

Surely you didn't expect to go to the playoffs with 3 losses just because you scheduled and lost to Clemson?

Tech had a strange 4 year run: 11-3, 3-9, 9-4, and 5-6. Which probably means they'll win around 8 games this time around.

I'm not sure if you are serious. I mean, I expect USC to be tough. It's at USC where we seem to struggle, but @LSU and Auburn are games I expect to be tougher.

LSU losing Derrius Guice, Arden Key, Donte Jackson, Kevin Toliver, Toby Weathersby, Will Clapp, Russell Gage, Christian LaCouture, Greg Gilmore, John Battle and your QB? Y'all gotta replace half y'alls 9-4 team that lost to Troy ( ) at home. Gonna be a beatdown in Baton Rouge.

Weakest schedule we have had in recent memory.

Like I said...usually GT is tougher and we typically schedule a ND, Okie State, Clemson game, too. Also, in fairness, Florida and Tennessee usually are a bit better than they were this past year.

If you believe this, then you don't follow recruiting. They have had two #2 classes in the last 4 years, a #5 and a #7. I think this is correct. There is still plenty of talent down in the Bayou,

Saying what you are saying is ignoring that we lost a lot of talent, too. We still expect to be good because of our recruiting, and so does LSU.

The better question is if we played a cupcake and won instead of playing Clemson, would AU have gotten in with the loss to LSU and the SECG?
