from what I understand, Sheridan is paid by USAToday for his writing/service/whater you want to call it... he's not on the payroll. Freelance may be a good term.

Aside from that, I find it rather puzzling that people insist on trying their very hardest to discredit or character assassinate personalities like Sheridan. It's almost as if they really believe that if they talk enough shite about the guy, it'll change the factual accuracy of what he's saying one way or the other.
I don't know his actual comments or where they are posted right now but he has attacked Auburn multiple times. It has nothing to do with him being a UA grad. He would not be rushing this story out without proof or knowing everything to start with unless he was out for Auburn and wanted to keep things stirred up. He would have waited until he got the whole story first.
He keeps dancing around and playing his words. That is something that is noticed whenever someone makes claims. He is doing it to himself.
PF and DS are doing the same thing. They keep claiming things about the Cam case to make everyone believe what they want you to. When they show some proof other than their words then it will be factual and not just hearsay. Until then we can only base, whether he is telling the truth or not, on his actions and word play.

Were they attacks? I mean, how are we defining an "attack"? I've never heard Sheridan say anything that wasn't complimentary about Auburn, its coaches, its team, its players, etc. When someone says they have information about goings-on, that isn't necessarily an "attack".

I've noticed this too, and it could be interpreted one of two ways: Either he's trying to avoid being pinned down on any particulars of the situation OR he's trying to avoid being misquoted or taken out of context as he was when he dropped his last 'bombshell'. So either he's playing fast and loose with the truth, OR he's trying to avoid having his words taken out of context.

how anyone can see this as anything other than a publicity grab is beyond me... we're three weeks before the season starts, both AU and UA have closed practices.. there's nothing to talk about.

Because PF will eat it up and let him claim whatever he wants to. No one else will let him just string it along without proof. You notice every time someone big posts an article about the bagman they lay it off on DS and PF as being the ones claiming it.
It is a win-win for PF and DS. DS gets to act like he knows something and have everyone talking about him. Then the money for interviews. PF gets his radio station talked about everywhere and the image that his show is actually a place to go for big news stories. Then best of all PF get to smear Auburn. If nothing comes from the story then PF can say DS had the source not me. Then DS can say the bagman wouldn't talk and that he stated, "nothing would come if the bagman didn't talk". No one can prove they were lying, neither of them will take a hit for the story, and they both get something they wanted out of it.

He was making comments last year about Auburn not deserving to play in the NC game. Auburn had not been found guilty of anything and that is an attack.

No but DS has shown nothing to back anything he has said. That is what him and PF wants. People to listen. They do it by claiming things people really want to know. He could just as easily be lying as telling the truth and no one will know.

Him claiming the NCAA knows who the bagman is and are trying to get him to talk is not going to be taken out of context. His words shows he is worried about it coming back on him. If he is telling the truth why worry about it coming back on him? There is nothing to worry about for breaking a true story.
