Mississippi State has been very loyal to Dan Mullen and I would hope that Mullen would return that loyalty back to State. That all just my personal opinion on the matter.

I think Mullen only leaves if it is for Florida. I think he and Stricklin got along well in Starkvegas

Plus, plus, they were winning NCs and Heismans when he was there. I can understand Foley not liking him and people questioning his recruiting success but the fans would be hard pressed to be dissatisfied with the offense. I have heard she didn't care for UF but I can't imagine that is why.

Tell me about how it's so bad that someone has to drive 115 miles from Gainesville to Orlando to buy groceries again.

I think it’d be a huge mistake to leave for UT or FL. The pressure would be on to win big immediately, and if he didn’t he’d end up demoted well below $4M/yr at State. If he stays at State, there will be statues built of him on campus. The field will be named after him. Plus, sooner or later he’s capable of having the right roster at the right time and winning something big, like he almost did in ‘14. It’s a definite no brainer to me. As for A&M, hahaha, that’s just not happening.

I don’t think any of those schools will even offer him the job but if they do he will leave State . He has been rumored to interview for jobs like Miami so he clearly has interests in moving up .

That’s true.. but he can quietly win 6-8 games a year and make $4M a year with job security. That won’t be the case at UT or UF.

You do realize that most on here have been to both Starkville and Auburn and there isn't a shite's worth of difference in the two towns, right? People that shite on Starkville either haven't been in a decade or more or are just idiots.

Yea...this isn't true

You're right. Auburn is also a shithole.

Please. Stricklin - his buddy - will give CDM the longest leash in history.

This will be Bill Arnsparger / Steve Spurrier all over again. Just replace LSU with MSU.

If Dan wants a NC, UF is best chance in SEC.
If Dan wants money and a place to retire from, he needs to stay in Starkville.

Alabama Nick Saban: $11,132,000 — $26,900,000
Texas A&M Kevin Sumlin: $5,000,000 — $10,416,667
Auburn Gus Malzahn: $4,726,960 — $6,898,958
Mississippi State Dan Mullen: $4,500,000 — no buyout
Florida Jim McElwain: $4,457,400 — $12,916,668
Arkansas Bret Bielema: $4,245,000 — $5,874,227
Tennessee Butch Jones: $4,110,000 — $8,125,000
Kentucky Mark Stoops: $3,763,600 — $14,765,625
Georgia Kirby Smart: $3,753,600 — $10,800,000
LSU Ed Orgeron: $3,500,000 — $8,791,667
South Carolina Will Muschamp: $3,100,000 — $7,188,333
Vanderbilt Derek Mason: $2,721,834 — no buyout
Missouri Barry Odom: $2,350,000 — $1,462,500
Mississippi Matt Luke: $1,160,000 — $1,430,000

He already makes more than Florida's ex 2 time SEC East championship coach!

Man the delusion of the anti-MSU crowd in this thread is truly pathetic. Y'all need to get out more. Times have changed, some of your programs are now dumpster fires, others have been that way for a while. Meanwhile this is not Croom's MSU anymore, despite what you think.
