Well, best depends on your age group and what you are looking for. College aged kids are going to want to go to Rick's, Cowbells, the Cotton district bars which consist of Bin 612, 2 brothers, Stagger In, The Fountain Bar, or Drifters.

I like to go to the Beer Garden, Upstairs at Tyler, The Veranda, Bulldog Burger Company, Dave's, or The Guest Room.

I can give you a list of good food too if you'd like...or you can just use google and not just assume all we have is a goddamn Mugshots.

He's one of those dudes that you could put in any number of towns or cities, and he'd sit in his room talking to himself.

If you guys honestly believe that Starkville is a great college town, you haven't been to many places. I have never witnessed so much Starkville pride in my life.

He can’t recruit RB’s or at least it seems they always suck or very avg. He would win at UF as he would always have a good QB. Unlike Meyer, he knew what Cam was all about.

Nope. Mullen doesn't play RB's based on talent. He plays them solely on their ability and willingness to pass block and understand the offense. Sounds crazy eh..? Well it's one of his idiosyncrasies. We haven't started, or sometimes even played our most talented RB since 2014.

However, Mullen would refuse an offer from Florida despite the fact that he could potentially win championships there.

I stopped reading right there.

These arguments are so stupid. People enjoy going to places that they will run into people they know, are familiar with, can get food they like, drinks they like and music they like if that is what they are looking for. I don't do bars but enjoy good food but prefer doing my own cooking. You could show me the best "bar" in Athens I would know absolutely no one. No fun. If someone held a gun to my head and made me go to a bar in Starkville, I would probably run into someone I know. Boom! Starkville wins every time.

Son, I've probably been to more college towns in the past decade than your arse will ever go to. You are completely ignorant on the town that you are shitting on and you are repeating a narrative that you heard your daddy say 15 years ago that simply is not true. If you can't have fun in Starkville, you're a loser. If you can't have fun in any SEC town, it's on you. Some are better than others and we are near the bottom in the conference, but it's still a great college town that is getting more and more things added to it every year.

Man the delusion of the anti-MSU crowd in this thread is truly pathetic. Y'all need to get out more. Times have changed, some of your programs are now dumpster fires, others have been that way for a while. Meanwhile this is not Croom's MSU anymore, despite what you think.

Mullen is a career 3rd to 5th call. Never one of your first options but a decent backup plan

I run into people I know every time I go to Athens also. Athens also has a great restaurant scene, a great music scene, great hotels and condos, and the campus is absolutely beautiful. Athens is also beautiful from a geographic or topographic standpoint as well. Starkville is an flat, boring East Mississippi craphole.

And y'all want to fire your 1st call. Sometimes you poop and fall back in it on your first call. Can I can get a testimony?

Lol I once lived in Athens for a short period. I enjoyed it. I also lived in Oxford once. Starkville is more appealing to me now than it once was, and has improved a lot in recent years. It has a slightly better culinary scene than Oxford, now. The Cotton District is walking distance from central campus, and MSU has the 3rd best tailgating scene in the SEC. There's also an airport 13 miles from campus with commercial service. There are several other things I could mention.

Wait, are you trying to argue that people cannot objectively go into two different towns and compare? As long as you can run into people you know the town is great? Look, I'm sure I could have a fun time in Starkville. I could have a fun time pretty much anywhere as long as the people I'm with are fun. But I can also look objectively at two different places and make comparisons. I'm glad you are proud of your school, but Starkville is not an impressive college town. I would not want to live there if I had other options. Dan would probably leave if he wasn't getting paid the way he is or if he didn't have the job security.
