Everyone I talk to swears I’ll regret a road trip to Starkville for a game. It seems laid back and much less expensive compared to most other SEC road trips. Is it really that bad? Are there NO bars?

Starkville isn’t as bad as people make it out to be. It might not be the most happening place in the SEC, but there’s plenty of fun to be had, especially on a home game weekend. Not to mention, it’s not a bad trip from Nola or BR. There are also plenty of bars, they just shut down early(I think 12..?). But if you’re not a douche, you can find somewhere to go party after the bars close.

Spent quite a few nights there back in the day slaying some MS country girls. My brother went to State and bartended at Mugs back when it was a fun bar to go to.

. I need to hear honest feedback from MSU people to believe it. Of course fans of other teams will shite on it.

I gave you some feedback, as an LSU fan. I’d MUCH rather go to Starkville than Gainesville(been to both multiple times). Starkvegas really isn’t a bad place to spend a couple nights when there’s an SEC football game going on.

They must not enforce the open container law in game days because I have never had any trouble. Just keep your beverage in a cup and there will be no issues

How are they "butthurt" when they're responding to some condescending a-hole's misrepresentation of our city? It seems as though some response is warranted there.

Ahhhh spotted! The Lafayette proud LSU fan who tolerates the nonsense ULL provides us.

Dude your town is decent but the people there blow bad.

I'm not defending everyone in Lafayette. A guy wrote an insulting article and a response is expected. I don't see what's unreasonable about that.

It was a joke. Apparently the author does that every week just to frick with people. The funny part is the very serious response that ULL came back with. The MSU dude didn’t even say anything that damn bad but they took it so personal.

It's for clicks

The same radio stations were pushing the hell out of Tom Segura's comments about Cajuns

Well it kind of makes them look petty for getting bent out of shape about a no name writer for fricking Mississippi State.

If it were a big name program then absolutely but this is Starkville we’re talking bout hahaha

Assuming the response really is serious, tourism is just about the only game that has a future here, these days. If some guy, for any reason, makes it sound as though Lafayette is a worthless or boring place to visit, I guess we have to defend ourselves.

I see a jaded newspaper writer, a New York hot dog vendor, a mailman, a bitchy receptionist and a wannabe Stugotz.
