Just like Chambliss, these players will get their TRO, they will play and by the time anything is ruled on they will be gone and no one will be allowed to retroactively levy penalties.

Chambliss' case is actual already settled. NCAA appealed to the MS Supreme Court and were denied and did not carry it further to my knowledge.

Chambliss is good to go. Ole Miss judge shopped with the best of them. It's important to know how to play the game.

Can SEC make their own rule about it tomorrow?

If I'm being honest, I think this started with Lane trying to force the SEC to rule Chambliss ineligible.

The alternative is to allow NFL players back.

Yes

Can SEC make up their own rules and ignore/work around injunctions or not

They appealed the injunction.

It is functionally over because Trinidad will have a TRO for the duration of the season.

Like all of these guys.

Technically the case isn’t over and the ncaa hasn’t technically lost

About medical redshirts? Sure, they could make a rule and move that entire process in-house if they wanted. And then review and deny his medical redshirt request.

Or just blanket ban all medical redshirts, which would affect a ton of players.

I think he'd like to have Wright and Harris, but they ultimately are not worth all of this trouble.

I think this is ultimately about Chambliss, and he'll take Harris and Wright as a nice compensatory prize, if he can't get Chambliss ineligible.

I think it's more about whether the SEC should allow players to play under injunctions or not.

They can blanket punish every school playing a player currently ineligible by NCAA rules.

That would prevent disparate treatment

It would also make Trinidad non playable because he is ineligible and is under a TRO

The SEC can make any rule they want. Doesn't mean they won't open themselves open to all sorts of lawsuits and liabilities they would need to pay back plus damages.

The NCAA is just being exposed over and over to be a feckless authority on anything. The SEC has been going along with the NCAA, which i agree with their personal feelings, but that doesn't absolve them from having to follow federal law.

Until a CBA is place the NCAA and their subordinates will continue to be all bark, will bite, and then get slapped in place.

Sure, across all sorts it would make a couple hundred athletes ineligible. Might even affect more than just banning medicals

SEC Rule they rolled out doesn't apply to Trinidad. They just showed themselves to be frauds for the "good of the game"

Correct, Pavia and Chambliss shouldn’t have been granted eligibility. That’s the issue, once something is allowed it never goes away

It is a good thing that 16 of 16 SEC schools agreed yesterday that players who have declared for the draft, signed a pro contract, or have appeared on a professional roster are not eligible to play for an SEC school.
I have a feeling this will get drawn out until an SEC member school refuses to play an SEC opponent who fields athletes who previously appeared on a professional roster. That would nip this shite on the bud real quickly.

Yep.

Which is why the inevitable outcome of this is all or none

Either way lane wins

Ah got it.

Yes, would love to see the SEC stand on principles for the good of the game.

Unfortunately, Ole Miss has been a charity case make a wish foundation team since their best coach of all time left them.

We're still in the everyone should feel bad for Ole Miss phase.

Yep.

They will either have to change it to punishing every one under a TRO or give up and let everyone in.
