why? you started talking trash, I pointed to most recent game between the colleges.

many people view that game as the game that sent Clemson to new heights and broke the LSU program.

You may have thought it was Clemson that beat Alabama in the playoffs.

But I'm pretty sure it was actually LSU.

Folks can think that Dabo's comments are a joke or not. But the fact is, Dabo compared himself to a man that was responsible for almost 3,000 american Deaths on 9/11, almost 7,000 lives of military personnel in the Global war on terror (4,550 Iraq, 2401 Afghanistan), and in addition to those lives lost the deaths of 7,800 US contractors in those same theaters of operations.

This is not to mention the original attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 which killed 6 and injured 1,500 or the attack on the USS Cole which killed 17 sailors, and the 1992 hotel bombing in Yemen aimed at US Marines. And these are just the attacks aimed directly at the US or US assets.

That's just not something to joke around about. While not a fan of Dabo to begin with, this really kind of pisses me off and shows just the kind of Narcissist that Dabo really is. Saying these sorts of things are what get people fired at regular jobs.

If you want to joke about having to sneak around the state of Alabama, fine. But compare yourself to Han Solo and hiding on the Millennium falcon or some teenager having to sneak around your GF's house, not Bin Laden.

It was a dumb joke.

It was also very likely not true.

Most Bama fans I know love Dabo --- although jokes like this might be indicative of why some do not want him as an HC.

Sometimes, it seems he just does not think before he speaks, and is a bit juvenile.

And my point is, some things you don't joke about. This is one of those things.

Hey, I have and idea. Let's make holocaust jokes next. (<- sarcasm)

On a day when a helicopter crashed in Manhattan and opened a lot of wounds that should remain protected and off limits from humor.

I’m glad Dabo can overcome though.

Right, and this is a good example of why he'll not be able to get the necessary support to come back to Tuscaloosa.

I agree.

There’s no doubt they kicked Bama’s arse but he can’t help himself. I don’t think it’s far fetched to say the damage is done and the more he talks the more likely it is Bama looks elsewhere.

Good Lord man, he was simply saying he's hated on. When coaches say "yeah this team is tough, we're in for a war out there" do you get all bent out of shape about that too?

He makes $8+ million a year to deal with it. Let's cry him a river.

Look, I have NO PROBLEM with his saying it's hard. I have a TOTAL PROBLEM with the analogy he made to say it's hard.

Say stupid stuff, deal with the consequences.

I don't think he's asking people to feel bad for him, you're going off the rails here.

once again, do you rant about coaches that refer to war when talking about an upcoming game?

oh heavens! The consequence of random internet strangers talking crap to him on a message board, how ever will he cope

No because that's metaphorical, nonspecific and has been used numerous times since the beginning of time. In fact it's not much of a stretch because many "games" and "sport" were derived from actual combat or combat arts.

This, however, is different. This is his SPECIFICALLY comparing himself to one of the most evil men in this world since the second world war. A man who vowed to destroy our country and our way of life.

How can you not see the difference in those two things?
