Ironically, this came out yesterday. New York 9/11 victim's remains identified almost 18 years later

To this day...

Authorities still cannot account for some 1,110 victims, or 40% of those who died.

Yeah, this is something great to "joke" about...

Here's how big of a deal this is - link an article outside of UofSC and maybe some Alabama fans showing the outrage at this statement.

This should be all over CNN, FOX and Reuters as a huge national outrage, so it shouldn't take you long.

You're one of those clowns that enjoys being outraged. Nobody cares, man. It's sports. These guys aren't winning any Nobel prizes for curing cancer or solving world hunger.

You mean a FOOTBALL COACH said something STUPID!?!

Bless me, my poor little ol' pea-pickin heart can't take this shock no mo.

This is a nothing quote. Y'all need to get a life.

It was a dumb joke.

It was also very likely not true.

Most Bama fans I know love Dabo --- although jokes like this might be indicative of why some do not want him as an HC.

Sometimes, it seems he just does not think before he speaks, and is a bit juvenile.
You nailed it higgs.

Dabo has always come across a little juvenile to me. He's a damn fine ball coach and he knows how to run an elite program. But the cheesy shite is polar opposite of what Bama fans currently have at the HC position and it can be a little unsettling to think Dabo could bring that to Bama.

Some of his awe shucks, "little ole Clemson" personality is a bit much. And then to insinuate that he's hated like OBL in his own home state is freaking ridiculous.

Actually, I'm outraged by very little. I'm pretty tolerant of others and their views. I'm a middle child and, by nature, a peacemaker.

BUT, when it comes to something like this, where innocent Americans lost their lives, just because they went to work on a Sunny Tuesday in September, then yeah, I get pretty upset.

In fact I think Robert O'Neil the man who shot Bin Laden says it best,

quote:

We are going for the single mom who dropped her kids off at elementary school on a Tuesday morning, and then 45 minutes later she jumped to her death out of a skyscraper because that was a better alternative than burning alive cause it’s 2500 degrees inside. And her last gesture of human decency was to hold her skirt down so no one could see her underwear as she committed suicide

The man responsible for her death and many, many others is the man Dabo just compared himself to. If you're comfortable with that, fine. Others of us are not.

Rober O'Neill Talks about why they killed Bin Laden.

I would say Dabo is more popular in Alabama than Gus

Gus gets to live in the comfort of his own home.

Dabo is forced to live in caves!

That joke is pretty hilarious. Are people actually mad about it?

I'm not the least bit offended by it.
I didn't think it was terribly funny either though... maybe the delivery is off when being read as opposed to hearing it out loud?

Come on you can't paint Dabo in a negative light on this board...the LSU lap riders will downvote you immediately. That's their guy.

Was it in Tiger Stadium?

Weird place for the 1992 Alabama National Championship reunion, but we do kinda own the place.

Since you obviously take it this seriously, I imagine you've stepped up to be counted, right? I'm sure you've done something more than show how mad you are by typing about it and letting us know how outraged you are.

If not, don't lecture anyone; you have no idea what anyone on this forum has done.

I, just like Dabo when he opened his big mouth, am using this forum to exercise my first amendment right on the topic. That's doing something, right?

And thanks to the brave men and women who put their lives on the line to give me that right. A right that the man your head coach compared himself to would have done ANYTHING to take away from you, me and everyone here.

Nor do you, so you might want to walk this one back.

This is all I'll say on the topic. There is more than one way to serve....
