Saban was ridiculed on SportsCenter for comparing the ULM loss to 9/11 for the fans in terms of the reaction.
Will they mention this tonight or is it ok to compare yourself to Bin Laden?

Sporstcenter is too busy slobbing over Kevin Durant
This isn’t even close to okay.
Just think there are too many big stories going on right now that it will be tough for this to get ahead of it
NBA Finals/KD injury, Stanley Cup Finals Game 7, USWNT have their first game today

Since this isn't 1995, I have no idea what they'll say on SportsCenter, but all that ridiculing didn't seem to hurt Saban too badly, did it?
Again, this is a story here because some of you really want it to be, but no one cares. I hate it for all of you, but this isn't bringing Dabo down.

You know, if you like it so much, I'm sure you could become an Afghan or Pakistani citizen. I'm sure they'd love to have you...

This is a story because Dabo said it and a Clemson website ran with it. A CLEMSON site....

I hate to agree with you here
But being here where 9/11 has been significant to many
I haven’t heard a word of it from anyone.
And usually something like that is something that would be picked up and get ridiculed quickly
Kinda confused by that to be honest that it hasn’t yet

Yes, without the magnitude of shitposters on SECRant.com and other internet message boards, the terrorists would win.
Thank you for your service.

Dabo’s joke was about hiding, not a terror attack.
Saban compared losing a football game to an attack that murdered thousands of people.

Never said I did or did not. I just said there is more than one kind of service to one's country... .

You don't speak sarcasm do you? If you couldn't tell that last part was a bit of self deprecating sarcastic humor, I can't really help you. But Ill try. See, by comparing my action's to dabo's in that sentence then I'm throwing my, and everyone elses, posting on the internets under the bus.
Here's what I said with regards to service.

The only people who say that haven't served.

Saying “That guy has a Hitler mustache” isn’t the same as making a joke about genocide. Ya follow, buddy?

Ok, what's service? It's defined in the dictionary as
quote:
the action of helping or doing work for someone.
So is working as a first responder (fire police/paramedic) service?
How about working as a doctor or nurse?
What about teachers or clergy?
What about the Peace Corps of Americorps?
Is working as a social worker "service"?
I could go on, but you get the point.
It's a secondary conversation, but that's why I posted what I did. As I said, there are many ways to serve. And I try not to pigeon hole it into "military service". In my mind, all types or service help make our communities and country a better place and all require some sacrifice from the one preforming the service.
For example, a few times a month I take my lunch hour and deliver meals in the undeserved neighborhood near my job. Is that service? It meets the above definition (both the dictionary and my own).
There are millions of examples like this in our country and not everybody out there is looking for recognition for those actions.

Then why are posting entire paragraphs to be recognized for 'serving' in your own way?
Why so defensive? No one is attacking you for not serving. I think it's fair to say out that our society recognizes "serving" as being a member of the military.
I never said whether I served either, so I don't know what you think I'm trying to do.
This is a sports board. I don't care what you do to make a living.

Folks can think that Dabo's comments are a joke or not. But the fact is, Dabo compared himself to a man that was responsible for almost 3,000 american Deaths on 9/11, almost 7,000 lives of military personnel in the Global war on terror (4,550 Iraq, 2401 Afghanistan), and in addition to those lives lost the deaths of 7,800 US contractors in those same theaters of operations. This is not to mention the original attack on the World Trade Center in 1993 which killed 6 and injured 1,500 or the attack on the USS Cole which killed 17 sailors, and the 1992 hotel bombing in Yemen aimed at US Marines. And these are just the attacks aimed directly at the US or US assets. That's just not something to joke around about. While not a fan of Dabo to begin with, this really kind of pisses me off and shows just the kind of Narcissist that Dabo really is. Saying these sorts of things are what get people fired at regular jobs. If you want to joke about having to sneak around the state of Alabama, fine. But compare yourself to Han Solo and hiding on the Millennium falcon or some teenager having to sneak around your GF's house, not Bin Laden.
Really...are you serious?! What a dumbarse thing to say. You and some of the other gamecocks on this board need to get a life. I get it, y'all are butthurt and hate Dabo and Clemson. Y'all need to quit acting like babies and giving the SEC a bad look. Grow a set and start winning...and stop riding our junk...
