This is a wild stat. For not one of them to make supers is quite the feat (or defeat).

You want an insane stat?
Of the 31 Division I Baseball Conference/Division favorites this year, not a single one made the Super Regionals.
The 9 that did make the NCAA's combined for an 8-18 record in the Tournament and only 3 even made a Regional Final.
Here’s where SEC coaches had everyone. OU was picked 14th. Now 1 win away from Omaha. Proves how hard baseball is to predict compared to other sports.

Baseball, especially College Baseball is a voodoo sport
There's no other team sport where the "better" teams fail as often. IMO of course

I agree. In football you have one main qb. Basketball has 5 starters. In baseball you have so many pitchers who can really be up or down. Thats what makes it so fun is all the unknown. Then hitters go in streaks and beat ace pitchers. It takes so much to go right at the right time to win it all.

4 teams predicted to be in the bottom half of the league are still playing. Of all the sports, baseball predictions can come off as the worst by the end of the year.

And they have the highest paid SEC coach.
Skip is the lowest paid SEC coach

Most LSU coaches are overpaid. Most LSU coaches underperform. It isn’t a defect, it is a feature.

Let us know when one of yours wins 2 national championships in a 3 year span, captobsession.

I take some solace in UCSB arguably doing the best of any of the preseason favorites. We weren't national seeds.
It's worth mentioning that Cal Poly, who did make a Super, was preseason #2 in the Big West right behind us and they finished co-champs with us.

It’s a sport where you can hit as well as you wish. But if you don’t have depth, and I mean quality depth in your pitching staff, you don’t last in a tournament setting.
I had no visions of Tennessee winning the Chapel Hill regional because we only have about 4 pitchers that are quality. And once Elander fricked up the 12th inning against East Carolina, there was zero chance.

Hardest sport to win.
Amazing that 1 program has been able to dominate it for 40 years and counting.
