Plus, Saban probably made him aware of his opportunities.

We will see I guess. I won't be surprised if two years go by and he has barely seen the field except on special teams.

This is much ado about nothing. Kid wanted to be at Bama, grew up a Bama fan his entire life, and was probably a little nervous about the situation at Bama and learning a new position. Saban probably talked him off the ledge, and he rejoined his childhood favorite. Not really a difficult conclusion to draw in the short time I've been in this thread.

No, what is simply amazing is TnM trying to spin the whole situation like BC was forced to go to Bama. He was committed to us for more than a year before switching. Why are people thinking it's so strange?

GTFO with that logic.

Possibly. You can say that about many kids though. We don't know how all these signees will turn out.

He didn't tell anyone. Auburn coaches don't keep the parents of recruits in the loop if those parents aren't "all in" with the family.

The player's father said he was unfamiliar with Auburn until AU head coach Gene Chizik made a recruiting visit and the announcement caught him off guard. “I knew about them only last week," Jean Claude Kouandjio. "They had a visit in my house last week. I don't know a lot about them.” Prior to that visit, he thought his son would join Arie at Alabama.

This is the part of the article that seems to baffle everyone and is a recurring theme among Auburn signees. Auburn will be nowhere in the picture a few weeks before the commitment comes and one visit later the kid is committed.

My bad. I'll try to be a shitty poster on this site, if it makes you feel any better.

It is just absurd. I mean, I am all for the UA/AU back and forth...but at some point, it isn't a Dickensian tale. He isn't fricking begging for more porridge from his taskmaster step-father.

Would you mind providing at least 5 examples if this is such a recurring theme?

How much more time do they need? They've had a frickING YEAR+ to figure this shite out.

Exactly. They have had a year to figure this out and Auburn enters the picture with a week to go. So Auburn can do with one visit what other major schools do in a years worth of recruiting. Makes no sense.

Let's see.

Just won a national championship.

Have a fantastic OL coach.

Just lost 4 starters on the OL, including the left tackle, which will be wide open for whoever wants to take it next year.

Took his official visit to Auburn last, so that experience is fresh in his mind.

Yeah, doesn't make any sense at all.

How many scholarship football players will Auburn have next season? If they reach 85 we will get a real chance to see if they have any shred of integrity. If they over sign after all of the negative recruiting they have done about Alabama's over signing we will know the coaches are just the opportunist rivals SEC fans believe they are...

I believe their rising seniors class is extremely small. They will probably have something like 15 spots.
