giving up two runs in 18 innings of baseball!!
I thought State could start 2-0 but definitely not only giving up two runs total in two games.
Nicely done.

Gritty performance by Pilkington who didn't have his best stuff.
The first 2 UNC pitchers were dealing. A lot of flukey plays went our way in the 8th... things that normally would go against us
Love how this team plays, even after being mowed down for most of the game, when they got a chance they took advantage and put the game away.

No way in hell I start anyone but Small on Friday. Throwing our best arm out there and he can come back for game 3 if needed or possibly game 2.

I think you have to throw Billingsley. Messing with the pitching rotation cost us big in 2013.
You go Billingsley on Friday. If UNC/OSU forces a second game, you can throw France or think about Small. If Billingsley gets you through, you have Small/France/Pilk for the national championship series.

I would start France. If we lose, we go with Small in Game 2. But if we win, we are set up great with Small, Pilk and then France again (if necessary) in the finals.

And if we lose our ace will be good to go the next game. He might could go Friday honestly. I'd consider throwing him Friday especially if it's Oregon state cause their pitching will be most depleted on Friday. I imagine their ace will be good by Saturday. I would take the pitching mismatch for Friday and go for it all

You know, I really would like to win a baseball natty. But if State wins it instead I won't be upset.
We all wrote the Bulldogs off after they started the season with a thrashing at the hands of Southern Miss. And they were not looking like a team that could make the NCAAs until their final four games which included an absolute molestation of Florida.
They are 12-3 over their last 15 games. They have a bad tendency to just have a complete meltdown game where everything goes wrong. But other then that they have been rock solid.
I think the Bulldogs have as good a chance as anyone left to win it all.

To be honest I feel the same way about Arkansas. If we don't win it all then I hope you guys do. Both programs have been so close before and both deserve one.

Winning your first 2 in Omaha always puts you at a huge advantage with your pitching staff. Coming through the losers bracket is s meat grinder.

I would go with Billingsly Friday, France on Saturday ( if necessary). Regular rotation for the final series.
