I really don't understand these rankings (granted I also don't know all tSEC team's records and who they've played). But I don't see LSU, Miss, Vandy, Kentucky, and Alabama all playing tougher competition than us so far. Haven't we played 3 top25 teams this year already (only beaten one)

I agree. Only thing i can think of is our crap teams have been better than your crap teams. But i definitely wouldnt say that LSU has played a tougher schedule than Florida.

looking like LSU won't get completely waxed by teams like Bama and Ole Miss this year. Hope we can come up 3-3 at least against State, Bama, and Ole Miss.

The Ole Miss fan last night said LSU's RPI was #70. I told him yeah without the Marquette win and he goes "no updated two minutes ago. Includes Marquette win."

I never bothered checking his link but he apparently had no idea what he was talking about.

he's full of shite. it was 71 before the Marquette game and they were #9. Real RPI hasn't updated yet and that's my site of choice. I can't imagine we'd only move up one spot.

RPI is all about playing a lot of solid RPI teams, not necessarily just a few games against top rated teams. Of our 11 games 8 were against top 100 RPI teams. Just taking a quick look at Florida's schedule, it looks like they've played two really good teams, a solid team in A&M, and then not much else. Our OOC SOS is 14; Florida's is 172.

I hate the RPI fwiw. But it's just a game, you have to manipulate the schedule. Not that it will really matter to Florida (except for seeding), they're a lock and their RPI should be pretty good at the end of the year.

This. It's also the only time RPI actually means anything when the committee starts seeding.

I'm sure ours will drop before New Year's Eve because we're playing some pretty shitty teams during that stretch. Then it'll jump back up again.

RPI is just goofy until March.

Your RPI won't drop if/when you beat us this year.

These two are head scratchers bc we have both played some Quality teams.

The RPI is calculated with 25% your winning percentage, 50% your opponent's winning percentage, and 25% of your opponent's opponent's winning percentage. It's almost all about SOS. So a team might play a small school with a losing record, but if that small school was on the road all November playing higher RPI teams it shows even of they lost those games.

It's a cluster and beyond my logic.

Losing to 1-9 teams will do that to someone.

We passed the eye test in NYC and that's why we are ranked.
