LSU can’t be a part of a conference that is punitive for no valid reason and looks to damage its athletic department.
The SEC should just vote to expel if that’s what it wants to do.

Banned for what exactly? A coach making a joke at halftime? Leaving 2 roster spots open? If so then about 4 or 5 other sec schools will be banned. Recruiting ex nfl connected players, but not rostering them? If so others will be banned. So far ole Miss is the only to play a player that the ncaa ruled ineligible and is playing bc of a TRO.

Strongly worded reprimand thus doing nothing. Stones, glass houses, and such. There is dirt everywhere that could destroy the league and all credibility. No way LSU would allow themselves to be the sacrificial lamb and not drop a nuke on the league.

You have to be really careful when holding one accountable for that which you’ve given others carte blanche in doing the exact same thing.

He also made the “imagine if we had pro players” joke and wouldn’t commit to not trying to add the two players at a later time. He refused to answer that question post game and during his Monday press conference. I think the SEC just wants to see him bow out from this fight altogether.
I think Lane has been a rejuvenating force for the program and I don’t think LSU needs to apologize for going after these players prior to their being a sec rule preventing them from doing so.
That being said, I’m for just putting it to rest at this point. We don’t need those players and this won’t even be an issue in future years. If the 5 for 5 ruling had come out just a week or two earlier, it wouldn’t even be an issue this year

Just because the players are eligible does not mean any particular conference has to accept them.
That is a tough argument when the lawsuit is based on financial opportunity, you created a rule specifically to address these players, and your conference leads the nation in NIL and pay for players.

Sankey is throwing a tantrum because he tried to make a rule change after the fact and apply it retroactively. LSU beat him in court.

An Alabama judge will rule in favor of the SEC.
Because the SEC’s federal suit focuses on its First Amendment right of "expressive association," a victory would legally establish that a state court cannot force a private association to violate its own rules
1. The Immediate "Banning" of Former NFL Players: The SEC is asking for a preliminary and permanent injunction to block LSU from rostering or playing athletes who signed NFL contracts. If the SEC wins, Dae'Quan Wright and Zxavian Harris will be permanently ineligible to play for LSU. Lane Kiffin would be forced to permanently close the two roster spots he has been holding open for them.
2. Implementation of Enormous Financial Penalties: A federal victory grants the SEC the legal right to enforce its newly established bylaws without state interference. The SEC could immediately dock LSU up to 50% of its entire football operating budget as a fine for defying the league's rules and attempting to roster professional players. Doubtful it will be that much.
I highly doubt SEC would kick LSU out.
