Could the athletes end up requesting unlimited eligibility?

They are getting paid now…what’s to say they won’t request to play as many years as they can or want to?

I mean, if they are technically employees, whose to say you can only hire employees for a limited time

Hey, I’m only 67 with 3 years of eligibility left, I’m not against getting paid.

What’s next is not requiring them to register as students. Not that many of the football and basketball players do much learning anyway

Remember when this board said that players should be getting paid and rational people were saying they already were in the form of free housing, food and education?

If they will be employees, will they be required to go to classes?

No shite. I remember but the players weren’t bitching back then. I don’t know what opened up the floodgates of this ignorance but it sucks.

I don't know why the hell not, we've already opened Pandoras box and the game is already gone beyond repair to what it was previously. Hell tebow might still be playing football had he been around with this upcoming setup. At this point NBA and nfl bust should be able to come back, halftime press conferences with open bidding wars to see which team wants a player the most in the 2nd half, a player demanding part ownership of the school. Why the fook not.

This is coming.
But if you aren't good enough to get drafted after six years, you probably won't. But who knows. If you're still good enough to play "college" football i'm sure they'll pay you whatever the "college football" minimum salary ends up.

I doubt they could. You are going to pay them but who is to say they are going to be w2 paid. More likely a 1099 paid so they are technically self employed.

Don’t fit the criteria for 1099.

For some players this would be a godsend.
UDFAs rarely get more than a game here or there unless there's some injuries.

It won't be long before athletes won't have to be enrolled in School.
It will be the "Tigers" football team sponsored by Louisiana State University.
It will look alot like Minor League baseball.
How close are we to a Draft where salaries are regulated with draft position, and then a possible bonus for starters or players they feel are huge contributors?
Once you are drafted by a team you have to stay there for at least 3 years, or they could trade your "rights" to another team.
