Consensus on 9 games conference schedule.

It’s back and forth.
I might see a majority on this board say that we should not have done this without a huge bump in TV revenue, since we take a hit in losses.
Upvote for 9 games.
Downvote for 8 games.
Eta. Things to consider.
-Eliminate SEC cship game (probably won’t happen)
-Need two bye weeks.
-Increase revenue
-Consider SOS when committee makes playoff.
-What to do with neutral games (WLOC/RRSO)

I’m for it, I just wish there was more uniformity on all conferences doing the same. I didn’t complain much before cfb became pro lite but for the money they get paid I want better gsmes across all of college fb.

I also want to say that I would only be for a nine game conference if we had two bye weeks.
And I understand you can’t have that every year. It depends on when college football starts on the calendar, but if you’re gonna do nine games you need to bye weeks.

Big10, Big12, and kinda ACC has a 9 game schedule.

I prefer 7 or eight conferences with nine to twelve teams in each. But the money makers somehow see profit in

Not the same TV distribution money though.
This ninth game in a top to bottom conference produces way more tv money for the networks and it is not congruent with the big10’s deal.

No matter how hard you try, you can't take the bias out of a 9 game schedule. Half the teams in the league will have the advantage of having an extra home game.
The only solution would be everyone playing one SEC game at a neutral site like the Cocktail party. I'm not sure anyone would want that (even Uga and UF are going away from it.)

The thing is, is there uniformity in SOS in big10’s nine games vs SEC 9games?
I don’t think there is uniformity with the big10 being too heavy.
That will cost the sec since we have harder schedules. SOS has to be in play and in fact, this was always our complaint in the 90s/00’s.
“If OSU/Michigan/ND played in the sec, they’d have more losses. “

Agree with that statement. And from what I have seen they agreed to somewhere between 50-80 Mil for 8 more SEC games. Which trades 16 mostly lower viewership games for 8 SEC conference games. I’m sure there was a lot of research and negotiation to come up with the add in revenue.

I don't think this is accurate. Even with the Jacksonville stadium renovations Florida and Georgia are hosting neutral sites in Atlanta and Tampa. And will be back in Jacksonville after

The one thing HCs feel stronger about than money is wins and losses. It isn't even close.
So let me rephrase and reframe this for everyone:
How many SEC HCs are for 9 conference games if not one SEC team is going into the Playoffs with more than 2 regular-season losses?
