The targeting call that WAS INDEED TARGETING and was reversed would've given Arizona State a first down and a chance to win the game in regulation. Instead, ASU had to punt.

I wonder if the refs reversed the call fearing another field-trashing from Longhorns fans if they didn't? It's a thought worth considering.

In any case, congratulations on the win, Texas. You all have a de-facto home game in the Cotton Bowl vs. Ohio State. The Buckeyes are running on all cylinders and they're going to be very tough to stop.

At the end of the day I thought it was a good no call and let players decide outcome but no doubt it met all the definitions of the rule and now that safety is not suspended first half of next game

First, how petty.

Next, the guy didn't lead with the crown of his helmet or launch himself. It was a clear football play as normal as any season in any year.

Wouldn’t have been a game if they got this call correct.

But the irony of a Georgia fan talking about bad calls when we all saw the officiating of the last 3 games y'all played.

This is far more malicious than the Taaffe hit but I don’t see anybody bleeding about this no call?

Blatant PI on skattebo that probably prevented a pick. Honestly Arizona State is a bunch of thugs that got away with murder all game

They didn’t even have an official review, they just called up Sankey and told them they’d need a little piece of his pie that he’s getting from UTrans.

Sankey didn’t handpick the Whorns joke of a schedule just to let them lose to a Big12 team.

Lots of talk on this but in general my understanding after reading lots of explanations is that the defender has to exhibit some type of outward intent to target instead of incidental helmet to helmet contact when making a play. But yeah, I was concerned that we were going to lose that call...

I'm not worried about the opposing Rant "experts"... calls were missed on the other side which should have gone our way.

If we could play 4 quarters like we played in double overtime we could beat OSU...but if our offense goes to sleep for two quarters like they have been doing all season we will lose...

Noboddy is fussing because you won the game.

That targeting call though was the worst call I think I've ever seen. Anybody that won't admit that is blind.

I went to both schools so honestly I found both sides this week to be pretty annoying. I thought the Texas side was looking past ASU, and I thought ASU ran their mouth too much. Ultimately they backed it up for the most part. I will say, I think ASU was given more calls than Texas was. The lack of holding was egregious.

If the receiver never lowers his head, helmet to helmet never happens.

Refs were going by basketball traditions where outcome-changing violations near the end of the game don’t count.

Hey dude...I read an article where even NFL officials were calling it a bad call. So, you can gloss it over any way you want to, but it was a bad call at a bad time no matter what you think or say.

Skat has a right to go get the ball. He was coming back for it. Nothing to see here.

Which benefits ASU massively compared to the team that spent all that money on pass rushers like we did.

But the primates here and on twitter just like to go "Grug see big head hit. Grug no see flag. Grug angry post on Twitter!!!"

Gotta be an aggy or aggy sympathizer saying this... if you guys would just stop wallowing around in conspiracy theories and instead use all your funds wisely under the new NIL structure, and put together a competent athletics management team you could win.

Just beat us ... you ags are so whiny arse all the time you corrupt the independent can-do image of our great state...
