Since basically anyone can transfer to any school simply based on how much money they can get, how many of these coaches are pursuing players based upon the insider knowledge they have at their current school.
On the flip side, I wonder if any of these players are telling these coaches…
For an extra 200k I’ll give you their playbook and tell you exactly how they do everything.
Wouldn’t surprise me and may come out in the near future.
I think we hey need to start setting limitations on transfer rules. No inter conference transfers, no transferring to teams on next years schedule, and only one transfer. Second transfer you have to sit out a year or something.

This has probably been happening for decades, just to a much lesser extent since these guys had to sit out a year.

There hasn't been a transfer limitation that the courts have not happily struck down over the past decade or so. The entire NCAA framework treating them as "amateurs" they insist on keeping is going make this streak keep going. Nobody wants to bite the bullet and call them what they are now. Paid employees. Only way to put teeth into rules putting this stuff above board.

this alone would make the current landscape much more tolerable from fans perspectives.....or at least the fans that aren't fans of the free transfer after every class on campus ends.

Great points. Of course, as with the case in other sectors of public and private life, some unaccountable a-hole judge will rule against logic, justice, and common sense, and the shite show will continue getting worse.

I feel like this happened with a former Memphis player that transferred this past year.

^this.
The only way to fix this is to model FBS division college football after the NFL. By that I mean players are signed to a binding contract for a set period of time and a salary cap for each team. What we have right now is, for all intents and purposes, unrestricted free agency and no salary cap. It’s unsustainable and is going to end up hurting college football as a whole.

The rulings are pretty consistent and bipartisan. SCOTUS was unanimous in the Alston case. Most of the federal judges in the landmark cases like Ohio vs NCAA and Pavia v NCAA are republican nominated judges so hardly bleeding hearts.
It looks like they are just applying the law as written. What do you think they are misinterpreting? If you take issue, it really should be with anti trust legislation. Otherwise you are just asking for judicial activism to give the NCAA the power back.

Hiring an assistant is a much better way to do this.
