I'm not sure it would do anything, the game is basically a pick em.

Wow, that scheduling makes the PAC look like the MAC. So many games on the oppositions’ fields.

Most of those are a home and away series and for whatever reason all of them are away.

Michigan St played at ASU last year.

I think Northwestern should be at Stanford.

ND and Stanford and USC and ND are fixed every other year.

The fact that this is even a question shows how far behind the Pac 12 is. Also, one game doesn't determine conference superiority.

PAC-12 football is in serious trouble if things don’t change. It has long been a top-heavy conference where it was USC and UCLA and occasionally Washington being nationally relevant. In recent years, Stanford and Oregon joined the club and USC and UCLA fell off. But lately even their top tier teams suck. And the middle and bottom tiers are even worse. If they don’t improve it won’t be long before there’s a move to revoke their P5 status in football. Their basketball ain’t in much better shape.

Oregon fans that are younger and haven't been around a Gus team need to prepare for disappointment. It is likely one of two things happens.

1. Oregon wins by 10 but struggles to move the ball ultimately a pathetic game plan is blamed for Auburn's loss and Auburn's season is derailed...the players quit on a coaching staff on the way out...Auburn ends the season with a losing record. It isn't a quality win for Oregon, but is another example of Gus being in over his head.

2. IMO Auburn wins an ugly game that raises more questions about each team and nobody is talking about being impressed with either squad. Auburn will have 4 drives that look amazing but go 3 and out the rest of the game. Eventually winning on some defensive play late.

I agree. Mind you I like this Oregon coaching staff. I think they are on the upswing.

OP is aware, give him a break, man. He just wants to talk football.

Thanks

I was never alluding to any superiority.

The PAC 12 is in serious trouble and needs to stop the bleeding.

Chip Kelly is a PR disaster at UCLA. I won’t say his shitty recruiting will equal bad results yet. Helton is incompetent. UW has notched a bowl win against Southern Miss.

Helfrich cucked himself to a 4-7 season and mismanaged the roster. Taggart left after a year. We’re lucky Herm Edwards is semi competent.

I do think things can be salvaged. Helton will be gone. I think Chip wills his team to a bowl. They will level up. Petersen stopped recruiting midgets at the skill spots. Cristobal is building something in Eugene.

Would be nice though if Oregon could win so maybe a couple recruits thinking SEC on the west coast stay.

Baby steps.

It won’t. Auburn either comes out amazingly hot and rolls Oregon, or it’s a classic Auburn down season and a win for Oregon ultimately means nothing for the PAC-12.

That is exactly how I see it.

Why do people insist on using this idiom when they can't spell the right "brakes"?

It would immediately put Malzahn on the hottest seat in the SEC

That’s not the hypothetical. I do enjoy the intelligent responses.

Even when Auburn is good, this is their approach to every game. They’ll play like shite for 3 quarters then score 17 in the 4th to win. Or they play lights out for 3 quarters, and give up two touchdowns in the 4th and lose 28-31 or some shite.

Honestly?

It would be a good win. Auburn is a solid to very good team always despite what people say.

Perception wise though, I don’t think it really moves the needle. The narrative would be about another underachieving Auburn team

You must be new here. Gus walks into the season with the hottest seat in the SEC... And its not even close.

No extra pressure will get loaded on Malzahns shoulders regardless of what happens vs Oregon... That will happen when he inevitably shits the bed against A&M.
