I agree, its going to be a hot mess. I don't see how this will go well. If we think its controversial now I think this system will be even more so.

Exactly. She's a frontrunner. She's not a U of D or Notre Dame or Stanford fan. Pure frontrunner. Fits the fanbase very, very well. Imagine how big a front runner you have to be to not be a Notre Dame fan and have a connection there.

IIRC, her dad worked at Stillman College which is in Tuscaloosa. I believe both her parents' families were from Greene County which is next to Tuscaloosa County.

Who cares, she a politician and the new system is going to be crap until they expand the field.

The first year teams will be ranked 1,2, 7 and 11

The conference champions need a participation trophy you know.

HIGHLY doubt that.

As for Archie being on the committee,he was quoted in today's paper as saying he played college football, his sons did, so he is happy to be able to give back. He also said that "we will have to leave our affilations at the door". I have seen him at LSU/O.Miss basketball games here on occasion, and he is an ardent fan to put it politely. To say he won't be biased, one way or another, pro black bears, anti LSU is hard to believe. He may come across as the father of college football to many, but to many he is a died in the wool black bear fan first.

Agree. The CFB committee is going to have so much ridiculous personal bias.

Not sure why they didn't just keep the BCS formula and take the Top 4 teams. More transparency in that than a committee picking teams with so much regional bias involved.

Let's see. Put a Bama fan that doesn't know anything about football on the committee. Saban approves.

Football is her first love, dating to childhood. Her father, the Rev. John Rice, had been a coach as a young man. Father and daughter played football in the yard. They listened to Bear Bryant's Crimson Tide teams on the radio.

Dr. Rice is originally from Birmingham but spent her middle school and high school years in Tuscaloosa, where her father the Rev. John Rice took a position at Stillman College and her mother was a teacher at Druid High School.

She continues to be a supporter of The University of Alabama, as well as an avid fan of Crimson Tide football. In her book, “Condoleezza Rice: A Memoir of My Extraordinary, Ordinary Family and Me,” she spends a couple of chapters on her time in T-Town including stories of attending Bama football games, and the University speakers series where she met the famous politicians of her time.

According to Mark Schlabach, her father had been a coach as a young man. Father and daughter played football in the yard. Even before moving to Tuscaloosa, they listened to Bear Bryant's Alabama teams on the radio. She loves to tell stories of attending recent Bama games, including tossing the coin at Bryant-Denny Stadium for the opening of the huge rivalry game with Tennessee. This past season, Rice even attended the Alabama-LSU game on November 5th and predicted a win for the Tide.

She did the coin toss one year at the Alabama Tennessee game in Tuscaloosa. It was in Bush Jr. First term, Brodie Croyle was our quarterback. She brought to the game a British Diplomat who had never been to a College game before.....it' s on you tube...
