How long would it take for A&M to try and get out of this contract with Jimbo? Genuinely curious

The money is there if it needs to be. Could be done by the end of this season.

I poke at the Aggies but jokes aside I can’t believe how wrong I was about jimbo fisher. I wanted him in 2015 but glad it played out like it did.

Aggie was smart to make a power move and statement poaching him from FSU but ridiculous to lock him in with the current contract. Elko definitely masked his bullshite.

Also I have no idea who Aggie DL coach is but he’s a clown. They’ve signed studs for years now and it’s hilarious how that guy coaches no one up

If that's the case, do you think Jimbo gets the axe this season or does he have a couple more left til' they get tired of his arse? Idk what direction the Ags would go after they axe him either, that opening would be a big job

There is no way he is fired this year.

He just had the top recruiting class and a huge extension.

He could lose out and still get another year. I think worst case for him is losing season this and next and maybe he gets fired. But then he gets to get fired and still get 80+ million. A nice worst case scenario

Appreciate your legit conversation tonight, but you are off base on this one. A&M has put 6 defensive linemen into the NFL in the last 4 draft classes. All 4th round or better.

DL has been our biggest defensive strength until Durkin showed up this year and insisted on 3 man fronts with a half dozen stud DL sitting on the sidelines.

There isn’t a comparison sumlin was better. Brought a heisman to Aggie even. They were at least entertaining to watch win or lose. This jumbo squad is like watching paint dry

Would depend on who is available to replace him. A ateady downward trend for 2 years is what got Sumlin fired, and that's exactly where we are with Jimbo. But if there's nobody great attainable this year, sitting tight another year might be the best option.

Would also depend on the players. If they're committed to A&M under Jimbo, I think there's a good chance he gets another year. If they start jumping ship, I think there's much more likelihood of a change being made to stop the bleeding.

In the NIL/Portal era, why would any top players stick around while Jimbo is at the helm?

That's exactly why I think there's a good chance Fisher is gone this year. He brought them, that's great. But if he can't keep them, he has to go.

You're smoking crack if you think they're paying Jimbo $85 million to fire him this year.

He could lose the rest of their games and be fine.

Think what you want. We raised $500 million for stadium renovations in 2 years not even a decade ago. We just raised another $120 million for other football facility upgrades.

The university just raised $4.25 billion, with a B, for the university as a whole.

The folks who think our football program will be held hostage for multiple years by Jimbo's $90 million contract are fooling themselves. I'd like to think most of y'all are trolling, but I'm sure a number of you really believe it.

I don't say that to brag about money, or insinuate that money will automaticallg equal success, because it absolutely doesn't. But let's be honest about the numbers fit into the big picture.

@Krampus, I believe you all will buyout Jimbo's contract after this season and bring in Urban or Lane.

I doubt any of those guys went to A&M for Jimbo. It's the money. So, Jimbo is replaceable.

I'd take Lane in a heartbeat. Pass on Urban.

And I do think the players came for Jimbo. He's a national championship winning coach. That's a big selling point.

But you can only shite the bed so many times before the players stop believing you're capable of winning another one. And I believe we are there.

So, yes, I agree. As of now Jimbo is replaceable at best, and becoming a full on liability.

Raising money for stadium upgrades is much different than paying someone 80-90 million to not coach…that is pissing money away
