Comment on the State cowbells

I actually like that they are allowed to use them - smaller programs should be allowed minor advantages in what is ultimately an unfair league.
What annoys me is that the fans use them at all times while on defense. So much so, that there is never a “pop” of the crowd that usually comes with a turnover or a sack. Instead, when a big plays happens, it’s just the continuous ringing of the bells. I found myself double checking the downs last night because I had expected a louder roar when Mizzou turned over on downs to virtually seal the game. In a way, it sort of dulls the environment.

Bells are trashy and should clearly be against the rules as artificial noise makers.

I actually like the cow bell, I think they are a nice "tradition."

The reasons for allowing State to have the cowbells are't really valid anymore. They have decent to good teams and a decent stadium now, they should have the same rules as the rest of us, IMHO. It will be intetesting Saturday because our coaches and players (with very few exceptions) have never played in Starkville.

As long as they don’t rap an opposing fan in the head with them they are fine.
But they wouldn’t let us bring flags with spear point like fennel tips in 80s and I don’t really remember many if anyone was ever stabbed by one, (although they were useful for keeping state fans at bay so they didn’t rap you with those deadly weapon bells). We know nw that was really BS and just a way to get rid of flags. Step one

I can understand why fans of opposing teams wouldn’t like them. If they do ever get banned, I hope they at least let the student section keep them for the sake of tradition.

They're trashy but they're legal.
I would say they can use them if fans from other teams can bring their own noise makers.

You know that State has a decent team when opposing fans start bitching about the cowbells.
So this season has been
