This. We watch this stuff to get away from that bullshite. It's really not that complicated, or at least it shouldn't be.

I've worked directly with GEN Milley. He can be an a-hole, but he has still sacrificed a lot for our military and made a net positive impact.
He certainly deserves better than these memes. But, you do you.
At the end of the day the military is subservient to political leadership, as is required by law and needed for our way of life to prosper. Senior military leaders offer their best military advice. And, Mark Milley DOES NOT shy away in his candor with offering that advice to anyone. But, he must stay apolitical and in his role in the process to protect the fragility within the system. We're not a third world country following one military leader to the next in a coup each time the political divide pisses us off.
That said, once a political decision from the appropriate appointed civilian leader is made, military senior leaders must weigh the decision in terms of an ethical, legal, and moral framework from their perspective. If it passes all gates (even if you think it the non-preffered decision), you embrace the idea having offered your advice and move out. If you can't square the decision within that framework, you should resign and/or retire.
Leadership is hard and decisions are always unpopular somewhere. But, those willing to serve, offer their best advice, and pass (legal, moral, ethical) orders as their own, in spite of their personal opinions and non-concur recommendations in an advisory role deserve better than crap like that in a meme. You don't see and won't see the behind the scenes discussions. I have nothing but trust in our senior military leaders. It is our hyper-politicized environment that is the root issue as both sides attempt to leverage/critique the military leadership for internal political purposes, which is simply wrong on all fronts.
Just my two-cents. And, I say this at very raw time emotionally for me with genuine discontent for a series of political and military decisions made over the past 24 mos that bother me to my core. But, again, not my decisions to make nor do I have the context behind the decision.

Look at how shitty Brian Kelly’s camera quality is compared to Gameday’s cameras. Im so sick of this lazy COVID-19-driven shite that leads to awful production value. It looks like a podcast out of someone’s garage

Ohio State, Oklahoma, and UGA haven’t won titles in like 41 years, 21 years, and 6 years.
Let me help you out since you are obviously a victim of Louisiana edumacation.
We won a title in 1980, so you do not count that year. You start with 1981. Then we have only played and had an opportunity for a championship through 2020, NOT 2021. So....2020 and subtract 1981 and you come up with 41?
I mean, it's not much better but give us a little more credit. We need all the help we can get.
That said, you are missing his point. His point was those are the teams that are in contention year in and year out....as a whole. Personally, I would have included LSU, but those teams he mentioned are the major players to make the playoffs most years.

English your second language?
We have made the playoffs and we contend for the playoffs most years. When Florida gets to their first playoff you can be in the conversation too. Until then....

Milley is a political, perfumed prince POS exactly of the type that Eisenhower spoke about. You can suck his dick if you choose....the rest of us see him for what he is.

GameDay hasn’t been must-see TV since the early 2000s or so. It’s no longer interesting.
Posted on 8/28/21 at 11:12 am to bigDgator
The internet has grown to the point that every fan knows everything knowable about their team right now. People don't need the TV people to give us this info anymore. They don't have anything more "inside" than we do. That wasn't always the case. Once the audience didn't need them anymore, they had to get really creative to keep people tuning in. That's why they have come up with all this circus bullshite and the heartstring bullshite. This is the death rattle.
Back in the day, Gameday was appointment viewing. Couldn't miss it. Fast forward 20 years, I can't say I've watched more than 5 consecutive minutes of Gameday in probably 5 years.

He can be an SOB. But, I'll take first hand knowledge over sound bites and spin from politically biased media.

quote:I can certainly appreciate your educated post/opinion on this. My concern/question regarding the military's presence on all the MSM telecasts is that I know when once an individual reaches a high level of rank within the military, politics become a major player in regard to their future advancement. Having had 8 years of Obama and knowing the huge extent to which he reshaped so much of the military mentality through promotions and demotions (along with ALL the other aspects of govt.), I've been concerned with the overall military ideology within today's Pentagon.

Yeah I used to look forward to it. Today’s show was cringe worthy at best.

They pretty much have. He just does prerecorded segments from his house. He struggles to even get through those. I made it through about 20 mins of it on and off today. I feel like thats enough for this season.
