CFB is now minor league professional sports.

wrong only 2% of college players will play pro football, contrast that with 10% of minor league baseball players will make it to the bigs.

so if it's a minor league system for the nfl it's not a very good one. 98% of the kids that play on Saturday are playing for the education.

the razorback foundation reimburses the university for every scholarship athlete in every sport. it cost the university nothing and our programs turn a profit.

your basic problem is you don't know what you think you know because you're an idiot.

the football you're looking for is out there buddy, it's called ncaa division 2 they're allowed 36 full scholarships so typically they divide them into partials. it's got everything you're looking for...."real student athletes"....it's not a "professional minor league" or you could pick an fcs school they're allowed 63 full scholarships but allowed an 85 man scholarship roster so they give partial scholarships.

so there is your answer you need to pick a division 2 school or an fcs school and go be a fan, they're playing the football you are looking for but you have no business on an SEC message board, it seems to make you miserable and life is to short!

To be truly pure college athletics should drop scholarships altogether and go to real students playing the various sports and force leagues like the NFL to fund a developmental or minor league instead of getting it for free from the colleges.

Calling the current college football and basketball players student athletes is a freaking joke. Not that I'm blaming the players, it's what the system has turned into that's outrageous

I don't think you have to drop scholarships to achieve your goal. I think college baseball is a prime example. They have scholarships but are mostly scandal/corruption free, unlike Football and Basketball.

The difference here (and to your point) is the developmental leagues in baseball. Pure athletes can go pro right out of high school in baseball. They don't have that option in football/basketball.

Title 9 should be eliminated. This is nothing but a liberal feel good law that bankrupts college Athletics.

Newsflash, dumbass: Conservatives and Republicans have daughters who play sports also.
