Football scholarships should be reduced from 85 to 50. Each school should divide those as they see fit. Each player would get 50% minimum. You can have 50 on full or as many as 100 on half.
The minimum number of sports to qualify as a Division 1 school should be reduced from 16 to 8.
Title 9 should be eliminated. This is nothing but a liberal feel good law that bankrupts college Athletics. I know the liberal do gooders will be triggered but so be it.
Never been a better time than now to get some good things done.

Good luck with that!

Congress can’t even see eye to eye on a COVID stimulus package

Fancy way to say you sucked at sports and never came close to a d1 offer, and now you want to ruin it for others.

To be truly pure college athletics should drop scholarships altogether and go to real students playing the various sports and force leagues like the NFL to fund a developmental or minor league instead of getting it for free from the colleges.

Calling the current college football and basketball players student athletes is a freaking joke. Not that I'm blaming the players, it's what the system has turned into that's outrageous

The first thing you need to do is run the liberals out of the administration offices. Until we get rid of the nancy boys running shite, it is never going to work right.

"Turned into"

From what? When have the athletes ever been "real students?"

Hell, even the Ivy League and the service academies make exceptions for athletes.

Why take opportunities away from people?

If anything, scholarships should increase across the board.

100 for football, 20 for basketball, 20 for baseball.

Why would I be triggered over your dull ramblings that are never going to come to fruition?

Exactly.Dont really understand the whole premise of the OP especially with cutting FB scholarships. It'll save peanuts if your
talking cost cutting...which I don't know why you would anyway based off 1 year.

Hell,HALF of Saban's salary accounts for 50 scholarships.Whats the cost of the 25+ "analyst" all the big 6 programs hire?

College athletics, and college football in general will not continue on the way they have been. There will be fundamental change, it is just a matter of what and when. You have mostly conservative whites watching liberal blacks play for their schools while most of them wouldn't admitted without their football skills. The players see it as a minor league for the NFL, and the fans will root for whoever puts on their colors.

Players skipping bowl games in their final season of college shows me all I need to know about how little many of the players care about the college game.

I am not hating on the players either, I don't blame them for looking out for themselves. There is a lot of money at stake for some of them. But I would think the trend would be for the superstar players to start opting out their final year altogether. If you have shown you can dominate at the college level, why not take a year off before the NFL and get your body completely healthy and forgo the wear and tear that a season will take on you.

What does race have to do with anything?

Athletes have been admitted for years for their skills no matter what the color and it was far worse in the 70's and 80's when
there were zero standards. At least we have
some minimum requirements now.

Other than making you feel better what exactly is any of this supposed to accomplish? (Honestly, I doubt it will even make you feel better since you seem like the type to find something to bitch about no matter what)
