Why does the Masoli rule of transferring graduate students not apply to Coker?

If you graduate from one school, and apply to grad school at another, it's not transferring.

Masoli didn't go on to win two national titles. Thus, rule does not apply.

Because rules apply to Houston Nutt.

Saban is allowed to do whatever he wants.

Think more along the lines of Russell Wilson transferring from NC State to Wisconsin and not having to sit-out a year.

Masoli and wilson were under the same circumstance, 1 year eligibility. However, its a new adopted SEC rule, that differs from the NCAA rule. Wilson would have been allowed to play in the SEC, because he was grandfathered in, before the SEC rule took place.

You must also take a major not offered at the original school, if you do not live in the state for a year prior.

What? My butthurt about a rule that was created after we took advantage of it? Are you slow?

I'm aggravated by the existence of the rule in the first place which was brought about by the faux moral outrage of taking Masoli after he'd been kicked off the team. Slive and the SEC have no problem if a kid goes JUCO and comes back( Pettway, Cam, Marshall, etc) what does one year matter? It's hypocrisy at its finest.

Careful.

Ole Miss and Auburn are both trying last minute pitches to Coker.

I don't care that Coker goes to Alabama. I'm glad he's able to but the existence of the Masoli rule is a fricking joke.

Folks/fans were all pissed after Nutt offered/signed 35 recruits in one year, so the conference capped that shite to 27 to appease the angered public.

Folks/fans were all pissed that Masoli (a good QB) got kicked off the Oregon team, Ole Miss got him, so the conference created a rule to appease the angered public. No more 1 and done transfers.

Folks/fans were all pissed that Bama was "over-signing", so the conference capped that shite AGAIN, now the limit is 25.

Folks/fans were all pissed that Bama and LSU, both SEC teams played in the '11 BCSNC game. So now we have a fricking 4 team playoff where the teams will be determined by a fricking committee.

Let's see how much more damage can be done to college football, I'm sure more rules and restrictions can be created to placte the public.

Amen to all of that. We are going to see a similar response to UT's class this year too. At least we have Archie on the committee to help us out except for LSU obviously.
