Surprised Auburn only has one coach to pass 100 wins.

To be fair he did have to compete in the same state as the goat of that era...add to the fact 145 wins is damn good for an Auburn coach. Gotta cut him some slack

Also had UGA,Bama,UT,UF and GT (Bobby Dodd years)
as permanent opponent.Nobody had a more difficult SEC schedule.

Bear Bryant coached at Kentucky from 1946-53. Is there some reason those wins don't count as well?

Okay. Either reading comprehension is lost on some of you or I wasn't clear enough in my OP. I'm only counting those tenures where coaches won 100+ games at a school. I'm not doing overall records where wins from multiple schools are combined into a singular W-L-T record.

Hence why I ignored Bryant's time at Kentucky and Saban's time at LSU. Bryant won 60 games at Kentucky, not 100; Saban won 48 games at LSU, not 100.

LSU fans love to shite on Les Miles now days. But his winning percentage is behind only Smart, Saban, Bear and Neyland. That’s pretty good company.

Paul "Bear" Bryant, Alabama (1958-1982): 232-46-9
Nick Saban, Alabama (2007-2023): 206-29
Vince Dooley, Georgia (1964-1988): 201-77-10

I think Saban went 201-29 at Bama, not 206. He had the same number of wins as Dooley at Georgia, lot less losses though, lol.

If you count the five wins Alabama had to vacate his first season he had 206 wins at Alabama. He had 48 at LSU, for a total of 254 while coaching in the SEC.

So you win more games if you don't fire your coach every 3 years... Fascinating

That's all well and good, but in absolutely no way is that how your thread title reads. That's on you hoss, not me.

Perhaps. But you must remember that I have only so many characters I can use in a thread title. Which is why I was expecting people to use deductive reasoning when they saw my list and realized that only one school was listed out beside those coaches who coached at multiple Southeastern Conference schools in their careers.

I suppose I overestimated this board's intelligence.

Like the fact Brian Kelly will never be in this list
Only due to his age... he's 17-7 in three seasons, none of which have been elite yet. He's on pace to get their in about 17 seasons.

How the hell did Shug Jordan get a stadium named after him? He barely averaged 6 wins per season.

One of the most underrated coaches.

His faults aside, he put together some great teams, won 10 games a year, a couple of conference titles, a natty, and did it all in the SEC’s most dominant era.

Chad Morris is only 96 wins away. Arkansas just didn’t give him enough time.
