RollTide1987
Paul "Bear" Bryant, Alabama (1958-1982): 232-46-9
Nick Saban, Alabama (2007-2023): 206-29
Vince Dooley, Georgia (1964-1988): 201-77-10
I think Saban went 201-29 at Bama, not 206. He had the same number of wins as Dooley at Georgia, lot less losses though, lol.

Sorry troll nothing about playing Tenner in Knoxville scares most teams. You are confusing being a good team with being an elite team. But it has been so long for you Tenner fans I understand your inability to know the difference.

That is dumb. While it keeps rivalries for those that have them, it DOESN’T have a balanced rotation #.
Say you have 3 perm you play each year. You would only have 5 slots to play the other 12 teams…taking ~2.5 years to see the conference JUST ONCE! Compare that to a team with 1 perm could do H/A with everybody in just over 4years.
So, it boils down to YES or NO to perms & keep everybody the same.
Settle down, it was because of the Georgia-Auburn and Tennessee-Bama games that we didn't play other teams for 8 years under the old system. (UGA STILL hasn't played at A&M) Playing them every three isn't going to cause the demise of western civilization. I want to play Auburn every year and if that means I only play Mizzou 2 times every five years than so be it.
Just because you disagree doesn't make the other point dumb. Plus balanced schedules are an illusion.

I think if they stay at eight they will do what the big 10 did and have some teams have 1, 2, or even 3 (texas) permanent rivalries and some maybe have none.
The idea of everybody playing everybody every four years home and away goes away but that is not as important as keeping rivalries, which matters more to fans and espn.
You could still make sure you play every team at least once every three years.

Not sure you fully understand how this all works. As long as Texas beats Kentucky, they are in regardless of the outcome of the A&M game. If they lose to A&M, they will fall back a few spots but they will remain in at least the Top 12.
With all due respect, you don't KNOW shite. Again, with all due respect.

In this scenario Tennessee gets in over Bama bc of head to head.
Probably but not definitely. If it is a matter of just comparing Tenn vs Bama I agree. But let's say there are six 10-2 teams, maybe some 11-1 acc or big 12 teams, all competing for 2-3 spots. Bama could be ranked higher than a team the committee has higher than Tenn. So it would not just be a 1 to 1 comparison.
re: Georgia football needs Alabama's help just to make it to the SEC Championship game

The really wild situation is there is a chance that we get A&M vs LSU even if Texas beats A&M. If LSU beats Bama and Texas beats A&M both Texas and UGA will be 11-1 (assuming they win out which I realize is not guaranteed, calm down Tennessee fans) and neither one will make the SEC Championship.
A&M and LSU would both be 10-2 because of non-conference losses so there would be a real chance the loser is eliminated from the playoffs. I got this scenario from MRed website:
1. Texas A&M (7 - 1) Above Georgia, LSU, and Texas based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4688).
2. LSU (7 - 1) With Georgia and Texas, below Texas A&M based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4531). Above Georgia and Texas based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4531).
3. Georgia (7 - 1) With LSU and Texas, below Texas A&M based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4375). With Texas, below LSU based on conference opponent win percentage (0.4375). Above Texas based on head-to-head record (1-0).
4. Texas (7 - 1) With Georgia and LSU, below Texas A&M based on conference opponent win percentage (0.3594). With Georgia, below LSU based on conference opponent win percentage (0.3594). Below Georgia based on head-to-head record (0-1).
