Thanks. I assume it’ll be pretty safe around the stadium w all the Swifties around and they don’t venture off the main roads?

Taylor Swift Hotel ideas

Posted by RocktownHog52 on 10/26/24 at 9:03 am
Don’t shoot the messenger.

There is a chance my wife and daughter could get last minute Taylor Swift tickets for Sunday night.

They’d drive down from Arkansas, stay the night and then drive back Monday morning.

Best ideas for them to stay?
Run a mile in under 7 minutes (7:24 on 9/17, should get it next time with some speed training)
- Sprint 400m in under 1:15 (1:32 - this one I think is achievable. First try ever running 400 m)
- Sprint 100m in under 14 seconds (18.1 seconds. Gonna be hard to shave 4 seconds off a sprint. )
- Back Squat 1.5x your bodyweight (315 9/26)
- Deadlift 2x your bodyweight (315 9/24 - just started deadlifting again. Will go up in weight fast. Hopefully 405 by Christmas)
- 15 consecutive pull-ups (12 strict 9/17- really thought I’d get this, need to drop a few lbs. with consistently will hit soon)
- 40 consecutive push-ups ( 42 9/17 )

So I was able to hit 2 out of 7. In really feel with a little training I think 6 of 7 at some point (if I can get a consistency of training)
- Run a mile in under 7 minutes (7:24 on 9/17, should get it next time with some speed training)
- Sprint 400m in under 1:15
- Sprint 100m in under 14 seconds
- Back Squat 1.5x your bodyweight (315 on 9/26)
- Deadlift 2x your bodyweight (315 on 9/24 - just restarted deadlifting a few weeks ago. Didn’t want to get hurt).
- 15 consecutive pull-ups (12 strict 9/17- really thought I’d get this, need to drop 15 lbs)
- 40 consecutive push-ups ( 42 9/17)

So far, 3 fails and 2 passes. Still need to test in the sprints, which I don’t have high hopes for.
I came across a post with these metrics. Who knows how accurate they are.

These are the standards that define the top 10% in speed, strength, and endurance:
- Run a mile in under 7 minutes (7:24 on 9/17, should get it next time with some speed training)
- Sprint 400m in under 1:15 (1:32)
- Sprint 100m in under 14 seconds (18.1 seconds)

- 15 consecutive pull-ups (12 strict 9/17- really thought I’d get this, need to drop 15 lbs)
- 40 consecutive push-ups ( 42 9/17 )

Plan on testing sprints this weekend and leg lifts next week.

42 years old

I have been pretty unmotivated in work outs recently, with a variable schedule. I’m thinking of testing myself in these areas and seeing where I’m at. Then creating a workout plan to achieve these goals.

How many do y’all think you could do?

He plays basketball or football outside with the neighbor kids almost every day.

This was the first year in basketball he recognized he should be working on drills to get better and stronger than just playing and having fun.

If he wants to and will keep up with it, I’ll be happy to get any equipment he needs.

Anyone have any thoughts or critiques of the following program for my almost 10 year old. I put it together from some online sources. He wants to lift weights.

I have an adjustable weight kettle bell (8 to 40 pounds) and plyo box (20,24 in) and put some plyo dots on our floor.

He wants to jump higher, and also wants to be strong enough to shoot 3 pointers on a 10 foot goal.

Set 1 - 3 x10
GOBLET SQUAT TO OVERHEAD PRESS
PUSH UPS
SINGLE LEG POGO

Set 2 - 3 x 10
SUMO DEADLIFT
BOX JUMPS
RAPID FEET (DOTS) -BOTH FEET, R FOOT,L FOOT

Set 3 - 2 x 10
BOX STEP UPS - one foot jump
PLANK SHOULDER TAPS
LATERAL BOX JUMPS (Right then Left)
I’d love to see Trump smash a bottle of champagne on the newly construct “Joseph R. Biden Memorial Border Wall.”

It could be Biden’s lasting legacy.

Stone Paver Question

Posted by RocktownHog52 on 7/8/23 at 9:06 am
I have large stone pavers in my side grass and in one of my flower beds that have either slowly sunk or due to erosion are lower than the surrounding sod. One is low enough to be covered by grass.

Pull them up and use sand? Some other material?

I wouldn’t try to push for time. Probably 5 hours. I ran 5 miles 2 of the last 3 days just to see how I feel and it was around 11 minute mile

Couch to Marathon- Need advise

Runners, how doable is starting Hal Higdon 18 week beginner program with little base?

For background, I used to run 5ks and have done 6 or so half marathons but never really was motivated to do a full. Best half time was 1:43. I got burned out on running about 3 years ago and haven’t done much since.

I’m 40 now, 6’ about 190 (when I was running I was about 180). I lift weights and do some intermittent HIIT.

My brother challenged me to do a marathon (19 weeks away) and if I decide to do it, I’ll be all in, but don’t want to ramp up so fast I end up hurt, or waste the time if it’s just a bad idea in this time frame.

Thoughts?

My buddy in finance says no catch other than you have no idea what rates will be after 6 months. You also lose 3 months of interest if you withdrawal before 5 years.

Limits are $10k for individuals or $20k for married couples. I wanted to make sure I wasn’t missing something else.

7.12% going up to 9.62% in May. In this climate, thoughts on a good place to park cash for 1 to 5 years.

CNBC I bond information
I’d be all for that as long as non Vaxxed people agree not to seek treatment for COVID if they catch it.

Travel ICU Nurses where I work are making $120-$150/hour. RNs are the thing we are short in.

re: Best way to lose belly fat?

There is no magic way to target just the belly. Find a diet plan that you can stick to. Calorie deficit is the name of the game. You can’t exercise you way into weight loss.

Dumb Question, I converted some Bitcoin to USD on Coinbase but accidentally set up a recurring sell. I cannot for the life of me find where to cancel that recurring transaction.
Other than tubing and skiiing, any other things to do for families in Park City? Have a 10,6 and 5 year old
