Ole miss ahead of state?
There's a reason why analysts and former player analysts have state in their top 4 and ole miss in top 6.
Two top 10 wins(dominant at that) vs one 6 pt win against a top 5 team.
Not at all mad but one has earned their ranking and one has benefited from a preseason ranking paired with 4 straight scrimmages to start the season.
Resumes speak for themselves.

At least we deserve this #4 ranking, as opposed to '09.

State and Ole Miss, and Auburn impressed everyone yesterday. Congratulations! I am proud A&M was allowed to become part of such a tough, physical conference.

Our defense has only allowed 3 TDs all season. Our offense is good enough. The rankings are based on how good they think you are. Obviously, our preseason ranking was deserved this year.

Sure seems like you are mad.
I was actually hoping y'all would be ahead of us, maybe it will keep the players fired up. Getting mad over the rankings right now is stupid, we are going to play each other and all will be settled at that time.

Miss State doesn't have two top ten wins. LSU has fallen out of the rankings entirely, and with Wisconsin's loss to Northwestern, LSU valuation is in freefall.
same thing is going on for A&M. remember A&M rocketed into the top 7 (in this poll) as a result of the beat down the delivered to SCAR at a time when SCAR was assumed to be top 10. SCAR is no longer ranked, has 3 losses, and at the moment appears to be a fraud.
The part being overlooked in this ranking is the way in which Miss State handled LSU and A&M, lot of games though, coaches don't have time to actually see the games so they have to go on W/L and transitive properties. Miss State's opponents and the opponents of their opponents are all in freefall. beat Auburn this week and you'll jump to #2

Coaches don't want to admit that they are wrong. AND since their votes aren't public until the final poll in December, they can have shitty ballots without consequences.
Case in point, 12-8-2013 Coaches Poll.
Here's Kevin Sumlin's ballot
1-Florida State (1)
2-Auburn (2)
3-Alabama (3)
4-Michigan State (4)
5-Ohio State (6)
6-South Carolina (8)
7-Stanford (7)
8-Missouri (9)
9-Baylor (5)
10-Clemson (11)
11-Oregon (12)
12-LSU (14)
13-Oklahoma (10)
14-Louisville (16)
15-Oklahoma State (13)
16-UCF (15)
17-UCLA (18)
18-Wisconsin (19)
19-Fresno State (20)
20-Texas A&M (21)
21-Arizona State (17)
22-Iowa (UR)
23-Georgia (24)
24-Vanderbilt (UR)
25-Rice (UR)
Franchione didn't rank A&M at all, neither did Art Briles, Jimbo Fisher, Urban Meyer, or Charlie Strong
Butthurt infects the coaches far more than it infects the writers.

That doesn't explain or excuse Baylor, who has yet to beat a team above .500 (FCS or FBS) being ranked above Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Notre Dame, Arizona, or TCU, all of whom have MUCH better wins on their resume.
Baylor is a top 10 team right now, but not top 5 and certainly not top 3

A #4 that we actually earned...Sports Illustrated not needed

The coaches poll has sucked all year. I noticed a few weeks ago that it had major flaws in logic. I can't remember a year where it was so much worse than the AP. This playoff is messing with the coaches heads.
Posted on 10/5/14 at 11:46 am to CGSC Lobotomy
hey man, you hate Baylor, we get it. disguising it behind your pathetic logic is boring.

Notre Dame would lose to eveyone in the West besides LSU. They aren't even a top 15 team.
