It is ridiculous but that is what they expect in Tuscaloosa. They have such high expectations that it is rare to find any coach that can satisfy the whining from the fans.

Their standard has been raised it doesn’t mean going 9-3 should equate to a firing or warm seat after year 1. Going 9-3 consistently will obviously constitute a firing at a program like Bama.

Going 9-3 shouldn't call for a firing but you can bet his seat will get warmer and warmer each season they miss the playoffs.

Luke warm, he might actually pull off 8-10 wins after they beat UCF.
Zero chance.

He is getting fired unless he wins out the rest of the season.

Also, his ceiling is 5 wins, likely will get 4 wins.

Pittman isn’t ice cold. The only reason he’s not fired is because the AD and board are cheap.

This is false. It's okay to admit you have no idea what you're talking about.

If you don't see what happened, I feel for you. It is increasingly obvious that Pittman is just a figure head and this was the only "ethical" way to bring in Petrino again.

This isn't true. Quit making shite up to sound smart.

It is very likely Arkansas is going back to the old policy that is if a coach has back to back losing seasons then he is fired.

If Pittman has a losing season then he is fired but that is not likely after last Saturday with a lot of winnable games coming up.

What tickles me about that picture is he wore his sugar bowl hat to hopefully gain a bit of leniency…haha.

Having an affair is one thing, but paying this chick 20,000 bucks and giving her a job without it flowing through the process of hiring opened the school up to potential law suits. Plus the lying about it.

He screwed up big time and knew it and had no leg to stand on to keep his job.

Sorry for partying I guess….

With the two big conferences now, what should be the threshold of a coach doing a good job ? Should consecutive 10 win seasons , 9-3 floor , what are yawls thoughts ?

You have to break it down by school.

For example, Vandy has high admissions standards. Other programs have states with minimum HS talent. We can’t look at it as they don’t have more to overcome than programs in talent rich state.

You assess the coach based on if he can do what’s expected with the talent they have, or if they can do more with less imo. And how he goes by increasing the talent, whether it’s portal or HS. Idk.

I’m just saying “it depends”. Can’t use the same metric for all.

This would be dumb. If he loses 1 or 2 more you honestly think he gets the axe going 8-4 against THAT schedule?

No chance. Boosters would need their heads examined thinking they’d rather tear it all down again.

If a school is fully invested in football then they better be competing for championships or the coach is in hot water.

Did Bret get fired or was he pushed out? Without looking, I think Bret and Sam have had similar stints record wise. What was the straw that broke the camels back with him?

It’s crazy, the only thing that kept Bret from being successful was he was married to his offense.

What?! He is far from being on the list due to he is maki9ng huge improvements. The Tennessee game isn't a must win game or be fired. I am still in favor of Florida beating LSU.

If he goes 8-4, he probably survives.

He's not. There's 0% chance that'll happen.

Even 7-5, in year 3, could be firable considering how bad he has been. 6-6 should be firable too.

He's going 4-8 though so its moot.

Go 4-8 and tell me it’s just “warm”

He’ll start next year needing asbestos underwear if that happens.
