Penis envy is a stage theorized by Sigmund Freud regarding female psychosexual development, in which young girls experience anxiety upon realization that they do not have a penis.

The majority of the national media, generally soft backers of UCF and their cause, are flat out saying UCF looks bad in this.
They overplayed their hand.
They overplayed their hand.

It's sad because they have the greatest example of How to Make a Name for Yourself right there in their own state.
Do like FSU. Go play every ranked team that will every year, anywhere, and beat them.

In the last 10 years UCF is 7-15 against P5 teams. You seem to forgot that part.

Yep, Bowden took them on the road, Auburn and OU in 76, MSU in 78, then the B1G, Pitt with Marino, ND, Nebraska. UCF does not want none of that!!!

They have a ripe opportunity to get a bunch of stuff set over the next 10 years (even if they end up going back to being good not great over that period)
- home and home 1 for 1s with good not great P5s looking to play in Florida (UNC, Pitt, Stanford, Georgia Tech, Louisville) (perhaps add in Maryland, Syracuse, West Virginia, Illinois, etc)
- 2 for 1s with big time P5 schools in which if you do it correctly you could have a major P5 school play at your stadium 2 out of every 3 years or so
- 1 or 2 big neutral site games
They could get a schedule that is basically the AAC + P5 teams..........but they'd rather play this silly "we're the same as a P5 team" game instead of building on what they've done. And they are going to realize too late that this moment ain't gonna last forever. Once they go 9-3 and lose to Houston and Memphis they are off this radar FOREVER.
Ask Houston.

No they haven’t UCF in the emails wanted a home and home or neutral site game w UF and it was the UF coward AD who responded “UF isn’t in the market for home and home or a neutral site location against non autonomy 5 opponents.” This response is exactly why the cowardly Gators hid from UCF in the Peach Bowl but will play FCS school like Idaho every year. EXPOSED!!!!

I mean look what Boise got out of their run.............
2010 - Virginia Tech (neutral)
2010 - Oregon State (Boise)
2011 - Georgia (neutral)
2014 - Ole Miss (neutral)
2015 - Washington (Boise)
2016 - Washington State (Boise)
2017 - Virginia (Boise)
2019 - FSU (neutral)
2020 - FSU (Boise)
2021 - Oklahoma State (Boise)
2022 - Michigan State (Boise)
2023 - Oregon State (Boise)
2025 - Oregon (Boise)
2027 - Washington State (Boise)
As a Boise State fan you get to see, in a decade period, Washington, Washington State (2x), Virginia, Florida State, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Oregon State and Oregon play in Boise.
That's frickin awesome.

Cool, Florida doesn't want to or have to do that. You are not Florida. You have a chance to play Florida in Gainesville 2x (and beat them, by the way, if you are as big as bad and you like to portray) and then have Florida come to your stadium.
Instead, you'd rather play a home and home with Georgia Tech and schedule FAU to go along with your AAC schedule.

UCF plays FCS schools every year..........on top of being in the AAC.
2014 - Bethune Cookman
2015 - Furman
2016 - South Carolina State
2017 - Austin Peay
2018 - South Carolina State

Yep - but they got to play Georgia in a NFL stadium in a prime time game to open the season (and whipped their arse, further expanding their reputation and brand).

Nobody ever denied that UF views UCF as a "non-worthy and beneath UF standards" type opponent. Scot Stricklin certainly didn't deny it. And everyone on this board agrees with him.
So what exactly has been exposed?

I was always annoyed with the talk around them every year but after they did that it was really hard not to give them a ton of respect. They at least showed they were not scared.
