You could tell that Nkemdiche was a beast with the bull rush, but he's going to get abused if he doesn't learn to play half a man.
Thanks Matt Millen.

Agree 100%, I said the last night watching the game. Kid is still growing and will eat/grow into the DT position.

Do we need to make a sticky that you played Vanderbilt for Christ's sake?
A Vanderbilt that had a top-20 defense last season.
ETA: I do find it annoying that most of this board was picking Vandy to win, saying things like "Vandy owns Ole Miss" or "Vandy has won three in a row" or "Vandy's the better team" or "James Franklin is a better coach," and now everybody's crawfishing and saying "now well pump the brakes there Rebs, you only beat Vanderbilt."
Your cake: you can't have and eat it.

Besides the 75 yard scamper, were there any other notable runs by Ole Miss running backs?
Not that I recall, but Bo was fantastic in the read option, which made Scott's touchdown possible.

I was thinking the same thing.
Guy has Suh potential on the inside.

Denzel's backup was suspended so DN coasted last night.

Your offense was decent. Not atrocious. It relied on a few big plays and some retard playcalling on Vandy's part. Who the hell lets Bo Wallace cut chunks of yards like that?

Furthermore, in the first half alone, Vanderbilt missed 3 picks. Vanderbilt dominated the 1st half and could've added more scores if the defense came down with those picks.

I have to agree. They had 1 job (cover Matthews) and they did horribly at it.

let's be real, they won more games last year including a win in Oxford... and they were 90 seconds away from a fourth in a row... let's not act like Ole Miss outclassed the competition.
It was an entertaining game played by a couple solid teams. Franklin may still be the better coach, and Vandy may end up being the better team when this season is finished... time will tell.

Nailed it. I think this is your biggest issue. The offensive line could be better but the quick passing game can mask some of those deficiencies. The lack of power running game is going to cost you some games this year. Ole Miss is going to struggle to close teams out with that offense.
The defense sucked but were there expectations for them to be better?

Someone is going to blow Wallace up on the read option. Vandy totally was unable to adjust to the things that were hurting them.

entertaining as hell
but with a heads up win @ Vandy you'd have to give the nod to Ole Miss if the comparison is close

I thought the Vandy kickoff returner was dead on that return late in the game.. 3rd qtr maybe. Dam what a hit.

Why do coaches put their #1 running back on the kickoff team? To give him a concussion? Idiocy.
I believe Kimbro committed to Ole Miss before the Vandy money kicked in.

Yeah Ward absolutely destroyed him.
Also I did see RNK play on the inside a couple of plays last night as well. Seemed to do pretty well for his first game. Didn't really get a lot of stats, but he was getting some good push and caused their guy to have to hold him in a critical 4th qtr drive that eventually led to a punt.

I can now say I've read it all. There is nothing else to read now, thanks brother

We failed to recover three gimme fumbles. That's football.

Cody Prewitt missed another pick six but nobody has mentioned that either.

Thank you, you're proving my point.
"Vandy's on the rise, they own Ole Miss, Franklin's the better coach.... but, c'mon Rebs, no need to get excited for beating them."

the secondary is horrible.
If it makes you feel any better, you can see two worse secondary's if you watch the Clemson/Georgia game! Between inexperience and injuries it could get REAL ugly for both teams real quick!
