One thing I noticed was Denzel Nkemdiche wasn't very present. Last year he was all over the place.

Injured early in the first and was playing a little hobbled. Bruised knee. He won't be that quite all year.

Our defense will get better when CJ, Gholson and Sawyer are 100%. Not making excuses but CJ has been injured all camp and Sawyer and Gholson pretty much started practicing in the last 10 days.

Self-deprecating math-based inside joke that became an online handle.

It has to do with a mistake I made when making fun of some chick I saw at the beach with an infinity sign tramp stamp. I said it wasn't a very creative way to express the intended sentiment and that she should have gone with something to express bigger infinities and joked that I was going to get beth(beth(omega)) (see avatar) tattooed on my lower back.

Beth(n) is the cardinality of the nth power set of the set of whole numbers with beth(omega) being the cardinality of the set of whole numbers. My resasoning was that because power sets proceed discretely, the cardinality of the set of power sets would be beth(omega), so the expression of the greatest possible cardinality would be beth(beth(omega)). The prof I was talking to told me I was wrong and that there could be no expression of the greatest possible cardinality because there is no greatest possible cardinality.

Long story short, I spent the next several days arguing with him and my little brother before realizing that I was wrong and that I'd almost (not really, but jokingly) gotten a tramp stamp designed specifically to make fun of someone else for being stupid but that would have instead been a permanent mark of a moment of my own stupidity. This was all shortly before I started my twitter account and was fresh on my mind and seemed funny at the time that I had to pick a name. I later decided to consolidate all of my online personas under a single name and so went with it for my SEC Rant name as well.

For the record, I'm still not entirely convinced that the logic of my original argument doesn't merit further examination by someone who knows more about set theory than I do, but unfortunately I am not someone who knows more about set theory than I do; so it will have to be someone else. If someone on the Rant takes my idea and runs with it and gets a Fields Medal or something, I expect a footnote somewhere.

Wow. I just figured you were some goofy Chi-O named Beth.

I will make sure unless the topic is SEC trivia to never match wits with you. You are without a doubt the only person on any Rant forum to use cardinality, nth power and set theory in any post.

Your offense didn't look all that hot either. Luckily for you, you had the combination of Dez Bryant, Michael Irving, and Barry Sanders playing slot receiver for you.

Dline was decent. DBs were awful

Oline was turrible.
Wallace did ok, but made some poor decisions that should have been picked off, and a team with more talented DBs will pick those off.
WRs are absolutely ridiculous and lived up to their hype
Scott is a good RB, but lack of Oline will hurt their run game against a good defense.

Tackling is not just a town in China. I know they are not in good football shape and got tired but that was not an SEC quality defense by a long shot. But freeze USA quality coach was a great game and a great win. ( I have both rebs and dores as quality sec bowl bound teams) just Avoid NCAA penalties, (make peace with State as much can be done) and program heading in right direction.

You guys won an SEC game, on the road. It doesn't matter who you are playing, that's something to be happy about. Teams generally speaking don't look that sharp in the first game.

It's not like they can't improve as the season goes on.

"You played Vanderbilt for Christ sake"

Do you even follow football? Vandy was the #19 defense in the NCAA last year and won 9 games. How did Aubie fare in those 2 stats?

The oline looked much better in the second half with Tunsil and Golson in the lineup. Look for them to start from now on.

We will have our two starting CB's full strength by the Texas game and that should improve the secondary.

nah, not much to worry about out of me. Remember, for all the exotic vernacular, the story is about me being wrong.

Thanks for the mental image of a chick doing math, though. LOL.
