I can agree with this. I get a headache every time I watch Tennessee play this season, and yet they are still playing games. This needs to stop NOW!!

All this to go after a man simply for trying to help a kid earn his fifth heart star.

Well let’s be honest. You can’t expect a HC to have time to monitor his players for concussions when he has to formulate nifty catch phrases, important awards, and cool third down songs to goad opponents.

You have to separate the meaningless stuff from what really matters.

That's criminal behavior.

If Butch really didn't know, he still won't be able to escape liability/consequences b/c he should have known.

HC and coordinators have absolutely nothing to do with concussion protocol. Once refs or medical staff suspect that a player is concussed, it's all in their hands and their responsibility to make the determination of whether or not the player can go. I've seen it first hand. It was out of CBJ's hands and totally on UT's medical staff.

So you're saying that if a coach thinks a player has an injury or observes concerning behavior by a player that the coach has no responsibility to have the player check with the medical staff?

We are taking Clay Travis as a legitimate source here...

I think that should give everyone pause.

However, if the story is revealed to be consistent and is verified, someone needs to be held accountable.

Honestly, if there is truth to this, it is pretty lucky that something much more serious did not happen to the guy in the second half.

Players will always want to play. That is why the choice has to be taken out of their hands when they are risking a much more serious injury, and it would be awful to learn that the people in charge did not do that.

It's very likely that Wells (OL coach) will be the scapegoat

He's probably most responsible to be fair. Unless there were really obvious (like the gif I posted from the original article) signs, Butch could plausibly deny not knowing Kendrick had a concussion or even needed to be checked for one.

Well, that might address the immediate issue, but at the end of the day, I guess it still comes down to the culture of the coaching staff. And that would ultimately be on the head coach.

Again, that is if this is true.

He absolutely could.

Going after Butch for this is a losing proposition. And I fricking hate Butch Jones.

You ever notice how David Ricky almost always posts RIGHT AFTER V&S. Coincidence? Siamese Twins? Retarded brothers/sisters? Gay lovers always in bed together with their laptops? Same person with multiple alters?
