Gates & it’s not even close!

I hope Nate Oats is named for 2025
Won it in 2021, only went to the NCAAt as a #6 seed in 2022 and lost the first game. For him that's a disaster compared to all the other seasons outside of year 1

Pearl won it in 2022, went 21-13 and was a #9 seed in 2023.
Cal won it in 2020, went 9-16 in 2021
Kermit Davis won it in 2019, went 15-17 in 2020
So maybe there is something to it.

Gates gets my vote. The turnaround he's pulled at Missouri this season has been incredible.

It's hard to argue with how Pearl's Auburn has accomplished with only one conference loss. But you are incorrect when saying everyone expected Florida to be good. They were picked 6th in conference preseason.
SEC Preseason Rankings:
1 Alabama
2 Auburn
3 Tennessee
4 Arkansas
5 Texas A&M
6 Florida
7 Texas
8 Kentucky
9 Ole Miss
10 Mississippi State
11 South Carolina
12 Georgia
13 Missouri
14 LSU
15 Oklahoma
16 Vanderbilt
The award should go to Golden, followed by Gates, then Pearl. Golden beat Pearl's team head-to-head at their place along with another #1 ranked win vs. Tennessee. A Gators win over Alabam should seal it for Todd.

Gates went from 0-18 to near top of league.
Pearl and Golden made good teams better.

Pearl has built a monster - recruiting is part of it. I would say Gates but he's lost to some really questionable teams. Too inconsistent

Byington at Vandy, then Gates.

I don’t disagree.
It’s a vote.
Pearl is the Coach of a Lifetime for an Auburn fan like me.

Easily Mr Cool ---- 0-18 in conference last year & 8-25 overall.
9 & 5 conference this and 20-7 overall. Unless there's a total
collapse in the stretch , Dennis Gates is a storybook and voters like
storybooks.

Pearl was expected to have a great team. I like the mizz coach and I like what UF is doing. But Pope also has brought back an exciting brand to UK ball. He should be a yuge contender next year

Pearl recruited that team. Recruiting matters, which is something a lot of basketball coaches in this league seem to have forgotten.

Pearl has been fantastic but we knew he would have a great team. Gates pulled that team from the fire. They went ohfer last year. He should win it, and deservedly so.

Pearl isn't that great of a human being either. That matters to some ...

Kinda surprised, just because Pearl was expected to have a good team, he wasn't expected to do what he's done against one of the toughest schedules of all time.

I’ll go with gates. Mizzou was winless in conference last year and a top 20 team this year. It’s gotta be Gates
