Given that the UK has 5 wins against Tennessee since 1978 (48 Years), I don't think any Tennessee fan is afraid of a first-year HC taking over a program that has won just 9 games over two years...

Same roll your basketball program seems to be on. Y'all motherfrickers can't even beat Pope. So no shite talking from y'all during basketball season.

UK fan brings up basketball during a football discussion........so surprising

So you won't bring up football during basketball season? I highly doubt that.

Good point. Let's just look at the last 10 seasons in each sport.
In basketball, Kentucky is ahead 13-11 since the 2016 - 2017 season (10 seasons through 2026), so UK has won 54% of the games over the last 10 years. But that doesn't capture it the current trend. Over the last 5 seasons, Kentucky's lead is much more significant, leading 8-4. So, UK has won 66% of the basketball games in the last 5 years.
In football, Tennessee is ahead 9-1 over the last 10 seasons. That means that Tennessee has won 90% of the games over the last 10 years. When you drop it down to the last 5 seasons, Tennessee leads 5-0, meaning Tennessee has won 100% of the games over that period.
That is on the "same roll"...isn't it?
54% = 90%
66% = 100%
Virtually identical.

Convenient time frame that doesn't include Kentucky's last Final Four.

Yes...decades should include more than 10 years. It makes zero logical sense why anyone would think 5 and 10 years would be a timeframe to consider. That was super convenient for me to pick those spans of time. You caught me.

Imagine being a "basketball" school and only making it past the Sweet 16 once in the last 9 years. Y'all bring nothing to this conference
1 Omaha Appearance ever...
2 Double-digit win seasons in football over 49 years (Vols beat them both times)...
1 Elite 8 in the last 9 years...
tbh just give up

High water pants are so ugly, and men that control their world do not wear light brown shoes.

What Florida did to Tennessee over that glorious 15-20 year period is nothing compared to what Tennessee has done (and is still doing) to Kentucky over the past 40.
Maybe one day you'll beat them again, but the odds are that it ain't this year. But maybe...some day.
