Plus the entire AU roster is going to use Daboo's bammer comments after last years game as MOTIVATION to beat them!!!!

Whatever, last year is fricking last year - AU wins this one with more talent, and better coaching on both sides of the ball. JMHO

Peake and Hopkins at WR are two of the better Wrs that AU will face all year.

Clemson has ridiculous talent at the skill positions right now. To argue other wise is just silly. Auburn is severly lacking in difference makers in their back 7.

The talent at the QB position is the biggest mismatch in talent.

AU is flat out horrible at QB, bad on the offensive line, and avg at the skill positions. Plus a new OC just spells disaster even vs a pedestrian Clemson defense.

As bad as Clemson's defense is AU is just as bad. Clemson is light years ahead on offense. Clemson by atleast 2 TDs. AU is looking like a 6 maybe 7 win team.

So we return the most productive trio in all of the SEC (Blake, Lutz, and OMac), yet we are severely lacking in the back 7.

Oh yea, we also added an AA FB to that group.

Ha... Whoops

Slowly slips out the side door...

But to my point, who does Clemson have in their back 7 to defend the guys I mentioned?

Where's all this inexperience shite coming from??

It's coming from a first-year OC... two freshmen OTs... new center with no experience... new QB with very limited experience...

We've got a handful of exerienced guys on offense... but the OL, QB, and OC aren't... that's not necessarily a recipe for offensive success in your first game of the year against a decent opponent.

We just have to go by what we have seen. Its well documented AU has the worst Lbers of any of the big 6 schools. Secondary has a lot of highly rated guys who have not played to their rankings.

Auburn has a good front 4 and decent depth behind them, but that probably won't be enough to cover up the lack of talent in the back 7.

If AU is going to win the are going to have to dominate up front all day and cause some turnovers.

Not saying AU has zero chance because for some reason God does favor AU, but it will definitely be an upset.

Can Auburn really even be considered part of the big 6 anymore?

You gotta take Clemson in this one because of Boyd and Auburn's inexperience on the O line and at QB.

Not saying we're better, not saying we're worse, but all these reasons as to why we will lose are also applicable to Clemson. Clemson is getting a lot of credit for last year going into this season, but I don't think they will be near as good.

18 months removed from the national championship? Oh I guess probably not. Has Mississippi State ever even sniffed the top 6? Seriously, time is running out on your off-season super vigorous FAP-fest...you are missing out.

From StatTiger...

quote:

If you were to take the top 30 percent of the nation’s quarterbacks from 2000-2012, only 20.3 percent were sophomores based on quarterback rating. As expected, seniors appear more frequently, followed by juniors and freshmen were at the bottom with 7.8 percent. Experience is always a huge factor for quarterbacks as they tend to mature with age and experience. The trend is that sophomore quarterbacks triple their production from their freshman year.
quote:

Offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler rotated three different starters at quarterback during the 2011 season. He finally settled on sophomore quarterback Chris Coyer to close out the season. Despite lacking experience, Coyer finished the season with an impressive quarterback rating of 177.4, which included 6 TD passes and 0 interceptions. He added an additional 562-yards rushing on 8.14 yards per carry proving himself as a true dual-threat quarterback.
quote:

Since 1992, Auburn has played 24 opponents they lost to by at least 14 points the previous year. Auburn's combined record in the rematch is currently 13-11 (54.2%). In the last 14 rematches with an opponent that defeated AU by at least 14 pts the year before, AU has a 10-4 (71.4%) record the following year. It would be a great sign if Auburn can avenge 2-3 of those big losses from last year.
quote:

Dating back to 1951, there has been 14 seasons where AU suffered at least 3 losses by 14 or more points. The Tigers bounced back the following year to post at least a 9-4 record or better on 7 occasions. This included a 10-0 season in 1957, 10-2 in 1974, 11-0 in 1993 and 13-0 in 2004.
