I think it's pretty funny.

Not as funny as South Carolina's record vs LSU.

Remember that time the Cocks won?

No, you probably don't.

Just read up on Sumter, dude was an OG at 86 was charged with assault on a 30 year old, baw did not play and rode horses till he was 95 . Always loved the humility of the founding fathers Sumter was no different.

It always amazes me how many early 19th century political leaders did outright violent stuff...canings, brandishing pistols at one another, organizing riots. Quite a fun time to be alive.

Probably a little to do with so many being war heroes, if they could fight and defeat at the time the worlds mightiest armed forces, most of them werent gonna take sh^t after if there honor or pride were called into question

You have yours.

We have ours.

We had 60 signers and all became Texans the minute they signed it.

Amazing person. I can't find it, maybe it's bullshite, but I've heard a story of him getting in a duel in which the other guy shot first and struck him right by the heart. He then took aim, killed his rival and calmly walked off the field, his boots squishing with blood with each step. Man of steel right there.

My home town of Mobile.

quote:

Many people don't realize two Revolutionary War battles were fought in Alabama: one in 1780 and one in 1781 .

Yep, they occurred in what is now downtown Mobile. Of course, at the time of the battles, the land was not called Alabama. It was in West Florida.

In 1780, Fort Charlotte, built 60 years before by the French, was under the control of the British. In support of the colonies, Spain had entered the war in 1779. On March 10, 1780, Spanish General Bernardo de Galvez attacked the fort, seeking control of the important port town and thwart the British threat to its Louisiana colony, according to ExploreSouthernHistory.com .

For three days the battle raged until, on March 13, the British surrendered, retreating to Pensacola. Galvez had plans to follow and attack the British in Pensacola but was unable to raise reinforcements. Instead, on Jan. 7, 1781, British forces moved in to attempt to recapture Fort Charlotte in Mobile. The Brits were quickly defeated, again retreating to Pensacola.

Fort Charlotte, called Fort Conde under French rule and Fort Carlotta under Spanish rule, was demolished in the 1800s but a smaller replica of Fort Conde was built on its foundation and is now a tourist attraction. Visit MuseumofMobile.com for more information.

Wrong. there were several battles against the English in Louisiana. Louisiana was not a "colony" of Britain but they still fought the English and ran the bastards out of the territory. interesting fact, at the Battle of Baton Rouge the British were defeated by an army in which no one even spoke English.

but your post sucks. NO state helped win the Revolution. there were NO states at that time. they were colonies; 12 of them. so to attempt to present oneself as "better" because their forebearers fought to free this country in the revolution is bull shite. ALL states have fought to keep our freedom from the war of 1812 to present day.

and yes, the colony of south Carolina was instrumental in the "southern war" and very much an important factor leading up to Yorkton.

Nationalism a great way to take credit for shite you had nothing to do with. It’s a lot like Alabama football.

Miss me with that kumbaya bullshite grandpa.

Oh..and just a reminder for the Frogs trying to hijack this thread and dickride Spain:

I repeat...

"NOT AS AN ALLY OF THE UNITED STATES"

The Spanish-Frog war against the Brits in Louisiana was a separate but concurrent conflict...Spain was out for revenge for the Seven Years' War.
