Not sure how that’s even possible when a team averaged more points per game against better competition the very next year.

They're BOTH gonna be instant millionaires shortly, so who really cares which goes first?

The defenses 2020 Alabama played on a whole were worse than the defenses 2019 LSU played so not sure where you're getting "better competition" from

Good for chase. He ought to, he’s been training for over a year just for this moment.

Smith had something to prove where chase did not.

Check the numbers on just SEC teams in 2019 vs 2020.

Defenses were clearly worse.

Hell, the majority of the teams in the SEC that you played either fired their coaches or had first year head coaches.

LSU fired the majority of its staff, very down year in the conference. Glad someone was able to take advantage of it

And Georgia, Auburn, Alabama and Clemson.

Who’s the best defense Alabama played?

Notre Dame?

Meanwhile SEC defenses were probably worse than they had been in decades.

Did anyone in the SEC West besides Bama have a top 25 defense?

Smiths size will hurt him in the NFL imo.

He just doesn’t have the makings of a professional athlete

So now we think 2019 Alabama had a good defense? Let's make up our minds

The op is an Auburn fan. That’s not deflecting.

Keep up, scrub.

It was statistically better than every SEC defense in 2020.

In fact 2019 Alabama was ranking 13th in scoring.

Did Alabama play a defense ranked higher than 13th this year?

OP was talking about Devonta Smith vs Ja'Marr Chase.

Neither went to Auburn.

Stop defending your obvious deflection.
