Former USF/Texas/Louisville head coach Charlie Strong was in Tuscaloosa visiting with the Alabama coaching staff Thursday. Strong was let go from USF following the season.

That would be a great addition for Alabama

Question, what happen to the Strong to Florida rumors?

If he does indeed go to Alabama it sounds like he just picked Alabama instead of Florida - they offered him the same gig (analyst). With Alabama's track record with former head coaches as analysts it does kind of make sense - almost all of them have pretty quickly joined the staff and then gotten head coaching/NFL jobs (Kiffin, Locksley, Sark). About the only one who hasn't is Butch Jones (Mike Stoops is still around too, I think).

Pretty sure Stoops went to Kentucky as a position coach.

Good call - doesn't look official yet but it sounds like bro wants to bring him in.

This is what I assumed would happen. Once it was clear that UF only wanted him as an off-field analyst, figured he'd shop and see where the best opportunity was in that capacity... He doesn't care about the money right now, given the buyout, so it's just a matter of setting himself up for a clear path to good job in 1-2 years.

Theres talk that Mike Stoops will fill the vacant secondary position but nothing has been announced and he would need to clear the Universities nepotism rules.

Wasn't Charlie just rejoining Gator Nation like two weeks ago?
