I don’t think it should be in Jacksonville every year. Maybe do one year at Mercedes Benz stadium and the next year do it at Everbank stadium.
And I think the Egg Bowl should be played in a neutral state. Maybe a high school stadium in Kenner, Louisiana.
See how much sense it makes for a neutral fan to have a say in where a game is played?

From the FL/GA state line on I95 its about a 5 minute ride to the Jacksonville City Limits.

Kirby wants another home game every other year. Another SEC match up when he can bring in the top recruits in the country.
And he got that when the NCAA changed the rule to allow the home team of a neutral site game to host recruits.

Well seeing as how both stadiums in the OP are in home states, I don’t see how your logic compares at all.

Not many seem to be in the site rotation camp.

Why not just Home and home? The home stadiums hold 20K more seats than their respective pro stadiums.

This is a great tradition that goes back over 100 years...why in the HELL would we want to change that?
First WLCP was 1915. Prior to 1993, they played in (besides Jacksonville): Macon (once), Tampa (once), Savannah (twice), Athens (four times), Gainesville (once).
Since 1933 they have played in Jacksonville except for:
1994 - Gainesville
1995 - Athens
It is shortsighted to throw out the traditions that make the SEC what it was and is...the WLCP is one of those traditions.

Jacksonville is as SOutheast as you can get. Home of Skynyrd, Molly Hatchett and host of other things. It's where a Southern rivalry needs to be.

Thank you random Ole Miss fan on posting something so stupid that you have united the majority of the Rant against you.

It’s not the same. With the game on campus the recruits get to see the campus, the town and experience the atmosphere inside the stadium on game day.
I’ve loved going to Jax for the cocktail party but it’s time to move this game. If UF wants it to stay in Jax they can keep it there on the years they are the home team and they will get the vast majority of the seats.
I didn’t agree with moving the game at first. But, after thinking it over I now agree with Kirby that we are missing out on another home game every other year, revenue for our merchants and a great recruiting opportunity.
Jax has let things get difficult for the fans. Poor traffic management, surly stadium staff, long lines to get into the aging stadium. And forget about getting a drink or food at the concessions. The employees are understaffed, poorly trained and really don’t give a damn that the lines are backed up for a couple of aisles.
The reserved parking is expensive. I paid over $100 and got a place I could barely get my vehicle into. Could hardly open the car doors to get in and out as we were so jammed in.
I vote for home and home. And as soon as possible

Let me try again, then. How about we change the Egg Bowl to Vicksburg?
My point was that neutral fans should not care, nor should they have a say in where a game between two teams is played. Most fans of Georgia and Florida are good with it being in Jacksonville.
Personally? I don't care where it is played as long as the location does not give on or the other team a big advantage.
Why are Mississippi fans so interested in where the Ga./Fla. game is played, anyway?

Sure I could see why Florida fans would enjoy it. Not really fair to Georgia fans though
What many seem to not understand is that it is actually more fun for Georgia fans than Florida fans.
Georgia does it right. They close the school on Friday and make it a long weekend and go to St. Simons, which is one of the prettiest places on earth. This means they leave Athens on Thursday after class and make a long weekend out of it. It's like a mini- spring break for them. Florida rolls in on Friday night or Saturday morning.
It is also closer than Athens for many fans in South Georgia, so they attend regularly. it adds an extra hour for the already long drive for South Florida Gators. The trip from the two biggest cities in each state (Atlanta, Miami) is about the same.

I love the cocktail party but it’s going to end soon. And it’s probably for the best.

Bobs Steak and Chop House is a solid choice on Amelia Island as well.

Go read his comments this past year. He’s fine with it. His whole thing is recruiting; he’s been told it’s not moving and to let it go. Outside people do not realize how much this game means to certain people. The new contract with Jax, will likely pay each team 6M per year plus expenses.
It means that much to Jacksonville, Nort Fl, and Coastal Georgia.
It will not move.
GUARANTEED.
We will most likely get a home and home coming up soon for 2 seasons, because if the new Stadium being built . But that’s it.

It’s funny you mention this..
I just heard this last week, and dint realize that technically Jacksonville has the largest population in FL. Now this may because , like Atlanta ; Miami , Tampa, and Orlando have huge sprawl areas that are technically other towns.
Atlanta Metro is 11M, but the city of Atlanta is only 600K.
I assume that’s what the case in those cities are as well

It’s pretty simple though.. don’t schedule a P5 away game or Neutral site game in years when you are the designated home team. It’s a scheduling issue. It doesn’t matter when you are the away team , because you wouldn’t have the home game anyway. But in years when you have 3 SEC home games and Jax. You should absolutely have 4 OOC games at home.. to have any less is just dumb!

Can vouch for this suggestion. Bruce runs a fantastic restaurant.
