Former Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly’s already precarious draft stock may have taken another hit on Monday, as he left the Rebels’ Pro Day early with an apparently hand/wrist injury.

Kelly and the Rebels had a disappointing regular season which saw the Rebels miss a bowl game and Kelly sidelined for the final three games with a knee injury. His mechanics, injuries, and off the field issues bring a level of risk to any NFL team that would potentially use a draft pick on him, as he was unable to work out at the Senior Bowl and the NFL Combine due to the injury.

Now, it appears another ailment has popped up for the senior signal caller, as several reports state that he was unable to complete the throwing portion of Ole Miss’ Pro Day due to a newly-developed hand injury.

**UPDATE**

Tom Pelissero:

quote:

Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly had surgery Monday for an acute rupture of ligament between two bones in throwing wrist. No throwing for 3 months.

Does SDS not proofread their articles? There are mistakes in there that a high school freshman should be embarrassed over.

It's SDS. They basically hire people from newspaper comments section as their writers.

Even if there's absolutely nothing wrong with his wrist at all....his draft stock just dropped like a wrong. Not many teams are going to be sending scouts to see him just a few days before the draft. He needs to take some of Uncle Jim's money and do a little tour around the nation at any interested NFL teams' practice facilities.

How bad is the injury? Can he still pull the trigger on his AK?

It could be worse, he could have left college a year early for the NFL draft, gone undrafted, and never make an active roster.

The worst part about that is I still don't blame him.

He did. And he has some real talent. The thing is there are a couple of very public meltdowns by Kelly that are out there for everyone to see.

Not many people are willing to roll the dice, in this day and age, on a QB... the face of the franchise... only to have them flip out on camera and threaten to shoot someone.

I'm not saying this to troll Ole Miss. Kelly just has a well documented rep as a loose warhead right now and someone is going to have to be willing to take a chance on that for him to get drafted.

Talent wise I think he has a chance to be the best QB in this draft
