Talent wise I think he has a chance to be the best QB in this draft

It's obvious how much Ole Miss fans love them some Eli Manning. Most Ole Miss fans will tell you that Chad has made throws at Ole Miss that would be a stretch for Eli to make. Not saying he's a better overall QB than Eli at all....but it's a safe argument that his arm is MUCH better than Eli's.

Would have been interesting to see him in a pro-style offense to see how well he could run it.

Really sucks for him. Hopefully it's nothing major. Joke all you want but dude worked his arse off once he got here.

Honestly, this might do him good and drop him out of the draft and let him sign as a FA with a good team as a 2nd or 3rd string quarterback or scout team to let him learn slowly.

Says you. He was looking at 3rd round before Pro Day.

Nope.

It was though he might get drafted ONLY because the need for QBs this year was bigger than normal and there were even fewer than normal potential NFL QBs coming from college this year.

fwiw I meant to say 3rd day and not 3rd round.

But your post doesn't really prove your point about him not getting drafted at all before Pro Day.

Well, nah. But when you preemptively post like that, you're letting the terrorists win.

If this board was an airport, I wouldn't make it past the first security checkpoint without losing my shite.

Kelly just has a well documented rep as a loose warhead right now and someone is going to have to be willing to take a chance on that for him to get drafted.

He's either injured, absent, or a distraction...it's going to take a team that willing to keep him medicated. I've never seen a QB jaw like he did at OM.

As in shite talk other teams?

Gonna need a link on that one. Admittedly....I've tried my hardest to forget last season with the exception of the 2nd half of the A&M game.

...which he didn't even play in.

Just saw some vids/pics of Chad at pro day. His arms look a bit bigger than I remember from last season. I wonder if he injured it in the gym.

The thing is there are a couple of very public meltdowns by Kelly that are out there for everyone to see.

There had been some talk that the character concerns are worse than people know.

Rotoworld profile
quote:

Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly was cleared by doctors to complete a pro day throwing session of 35-45 plays.

Kelly is working back from an ACL injury, which kept him out of the Senior Bowl. Kelly also had his NFL Combine invite rescinded, and Fox Sports' Bruce Feldman recently said Kelly's "baggage" is "considerably worse than what has been reported," but elected to not expand on that statement. Many respected evaluators have plenty of positive things to say about Kelly's game, including Matt Waldman.

I understand your blind hatred. You got the grind in you so its a given. Ill give you the injury accusation as he's had a couple, nothing serious except the knee. He was never absent, he isn't the brightest but he's dedicated. He had two off the field incidents that garnered a lot of attention from the media but did not effect OM football team. Although, Im pretty sure Freeze was tired of answering questions about it.

character concerns

Since he's stepped food on campus, there hasn't been anything that would deem his character as questionable.

The incident at the HS game is arguable. When your little brother is getting kicked in the head in front of the opposing team's bench.....you tend to stray away from rational thought. We don't know if he was going there to kick the shite out of some kids(I would have done the same but would have been terrible move for him) or just to pull his brother out of the pile.

What made that issue an actual issue is what he did a few years back. Anyone else and it would have been forgotten after a week.
